They're allowed to contact players in the portal so I have no doubt they've already started contacting players. The chances of landing talent that fits ISU will only increase after this game. The right type of players may even be contacting the staff after today's game, "right type" being hard workers who love playing defense.

Man lips is going to be such a huge loss, just an outstanding player. Never seen a guy do so much that never shows up in a box score. All timer.

He will but program in great hands with Toure and Yusef Gray has a ton of potential coming in. I just would love to see Tamin make at least the elite 8 on his last run

Blake Buchanan was near elite today, he caused a ton of havoc defensively and those lobs were A+

And after Pope chose him to shoot Toure's free throws (because, yeah, I would have as well), he nailed both of them. Perfect. Only thing is I wish that three would have gone down for him in the last part of the game.

It took a while to get over the hump but once we started attacking the rim and getting to the FT line, it felt like our offense was going to get in a groove. They hit a couple shots early but they did know what to do against our defense. It felt inevitable.

A statement win for the program without our superstar.

Yep. Our son (sophomore in Ames) unfortunately had to watch this one on the plane flying back to Iowa. So the students will be back today/tomorrow. Chicago should be wild.

Buchanan has been awesome for us this year. There is a small vocal minority on here that has a problem with him but he is a near perfect fit for TJ’s style of play

He’s tough on defense and makes great cuts for easy dunks. Does exactly what we need him to do and can do a lot more with a little improvement.
