Definitely have concerns with interior defense and rebounding…but they’ve lost 13 games for a reason.

With our senior leadership, I hope we stay mentally tough and composed. And dear god let some shots fall like Friday.

Big misconception about Kentucky is that they have a bunch of bad losses. Looking back their 2 worst losses are Auburn and Texas A&M and they are both top 40 overall in Kenpom. We will see what happens today, but it’s going to be quite a challenge.

Looking at point spreads, its interesting to me that we're a bigger favorite without Jefferson than UConn is over UCLA

And most bets (idk about money) are on ISU per DraftKings. I don’t get it. Either the public money doesn’t know about JJ or they just still like the clones

With Pope as their coach, Kentucky doesn't carry the same air of arrogance with them that they did with Calipari. I feel like that benefits them today. They respect us, Pope has coached against TJ when he was with BYU, I just think there really won't be any catching them sleeping.

That’s probably part of it. If it said Texas A&M on their jersey instead of Kentucky, I’d probably feel more confident.

I think it’s the anticipation without Jefferson. We don’t really know what this team looks like without him except for 37 mins against a good low-major.

Their two Q2 losses were at home to Georgia and Missouri - both tourney teams.

Their worst games, analytically, was a neutral court loss by 35 to Gonzaga and a home loss by 25 to Vandy. In both cases they REALLY struggled offensively, shooting well below 40% on 2-pt shots.

To your point, their loss @ Auburn was their only loss to a non-tourney team, and Auburn was one of the last teams out (much like our loss @ Cincy)

I think you're right or close to it on TN State being worst. They felt over seeded at 15. Furman was also a 15 and would have beat TN State by 20+
TSU was seeded appropriately. Furman likely was a little underseeded, definitely better, and among 16s Siena arguably better than both. Prairie View and most of the other 16 seeds easily worse than Tennessee State (and accurately seeded).

They also lost at home vs Gonzaga by 35

ISU 75-67. Again, the Cyclones defense carries the day.
Hope the refs are not too tight. Start of the last game even the announcers mentioned seemed to be the most ticky tack calls they'd seen in tourney. Can't have Tamin or Blake on the bench right away (and can't give them the bonus/double bonus too soon....as we know even if evenly called, FTs not a benefit for us)

UK is like Texas in FB when they have off years.

Not disciplined, not always a team.

But they got talent to play with anyone.

We come out a play the way we have the last 4 games and we win easily. We let them hang around and it could be a dog fight.

But this team isn’t gonna roll over.

LFG! Cyclones!
I saw a report that said they have 1 All Conference player. If that’s true - there’s a reason they are 21-13 and a 7 seed.

I would be less nervous if the media would talk less about Jefferson.
I think Pleta is due for a great game, he has been much more aggressive and this is the game it pays.
Toure will be good, because he doesn't have a complete understanding of March Madness so nerves won't be an issue for him.
I'm worried about Lipsey, all the reaching in he did yesterday leads me to think his groin is bothering him. I hope he can lead this team to victory.
