***NCAA Wrestling - Session 5 (Saturday, 10am CT)***

What another let down of a year. Proud of the AA’s but all the hype at the beginning of the year for no results at the end. One thing we do beat ppl on is having the most injured guys. Love hearing dresser talk about getting tough. Coaching change needed
I am usually not too critical of posts, but this one just rankles me. Yes, we have injury issues. Maybe it is bringing in guys with a lot of milage, and maybe our training/S&C are somewhat to blame, but I doubt that a coaching change will make much of a difference. And here's the real question: Who would we get that would solve those issues, is available, and that would recruit over what we have? Would love to hear some responses.

He has a very long frame and has talked about going up. He’ll also be thinking about Olympics and unfortunately there is no 133 equivalent.
I’ve heard Jax is going up to 141 too and Vega eventually to 149. Probably let Casey get through his senior year and build Vega up. They also have the Raneys coming in

To be consistently top 4 you either have to recruit high school at a higher level or have transfer guys pan out better than we have. Dresser imo has done a pretty good job here, but compared to Iowa, psu, osux2 we are a little behind. Seems with our resources top ten and occasional trophy is pretty solid.

That person has made 3 posts in the last 13 months, and all 3 ripped on Dresser. Pattern.

I’d be surprised to ever see Jax at 33 again. Blaze at 41 makes most sense for PSU as a team. I think Davino is a lifer.
This is kind of what I was thinking too. What’s best for the team aside, Blaze at 41 seems like a bit much for him, at this point, just looking at his body composition, but his positioning is so good, he can likely get away with it.

Wonder whats going to happen with Jamison

I agree. We don’t need a complete coaching change, but I do think they need to evaluate why we have been seeing a higher level of injuries (especially knees) than most other schools. Is it S&C, style of training/practice, the portal wrestlers we bring in? There is something that needs to be looked at and figured out. It isn’t just one season, it’s been something over a few seasons now.

Look what our transfers did. Showed little to no improvement and none of them AAed. If you want me to be honest, we need to get a guy like Jordan Burroughs. You could see a clear difference in Carr when he trained with him for a few weeks this last year. And he would be able to recruit

Dresser is the pattern. He said it’s not his job to babysit these guys and their weight cutting regiment. Yes it is. You’re the head coach that is exactly what your job is. And then he talks about how these guys need to get to tough. I get it’s a brutal sport, but look at how many injuries we have. I think him and brands are very similar and they’re gable mentality. It’s not just about being tough anymore

Well you can wish in one hand and crap in the other. JB ain't leaving his youth club unless it's for maybe 1 of 3 places and we aint one of those

I can tell you right now Dresser and staff watch the weight of our guys and help them
Manage much more than the previous staff did

The people who want coaching changes forget what this place looked like before KD. It was embarrassing, and none of us are content with how nationals went, we seldom are. But pump the brakes on coaching changes rhetoric. It’s a great staff who have us relevant again (top 8 and top 4 in home attendance) with a finalist tonight and things going in the right direction. All is well

Let me just point out as a former (bad) collegiate wrestler. At this time of the season, EVERYBODY is hurt and practically no one is wrestling at 100%. The season is grueling and it's no surprise seeing freshman with less wear and tear do better than the seasoned vets. Wish the coaches would stop bringing up injuries. Everyone's in the same boat.

Did Dresser ever say what exactly was all destroyed in Elams knee after he was eliminated
