*** Official Tennessee State vs #6 IOWA STATE Game(Day) Thread ***

Ok, it may not be my deepest analysis of an opponent, but does anyone else think that Tennessee State's logo is odd.

Seriously, I went early to the shoot-around yesterday and arrived while they were still on the court. I had to ask which team it was because I didn't associate their logo with their school name. I commented that it looked more like LSU or an LSU knock-off.

Also, when I entered the stadium, their pep band was playing a very soothing version of "Jesus Loves Me." Then, after I got settled, they really dialed it up, making it hard to talk to others during their shoot-around. I know it sounds like a cliche, but it is true. HBCU bands and cheerleaders/dancers bring so much soul to their performances. I'm really looking forward to watching them during the game.

I usually try to keep perspective during the season and don't get too charged up about games but this is totally me for round 1 day for a game I have no influence on whatsoever, and that really doesn't affect my life overall haha.

Just hoping for good things today.

Not as many upsets in Friday games cause the players all watch Thursday and it clicks that they still gotta play. This will guarantee Iowa State will be dialed and break their spirit in the first half. I see us being loose with the ball for a stretch in the 2nd half but that's about our only faults.

I can't be the only one that finds it weird that Nolan Smith is wearing his Duke ring in yesterdays presser, right?

Anyone in the Des Moines area going to watch this somewhere? Going to leave work early today and try to catch the game somewhere. I'm surprised just how many people that usually are up for meeting up for a game watch are still going to work this afternoon or have some other plans today.

Thanks, @CycloneRulzzz

I think we may come out a little sloppy in this one and have a small lead at the half before dropping the hammer in the 2nd half.

ISU - 79
TSU - 63
I could see that. Lots of heavy favorites have struggled out of the gate so far. But I think we will come out focus town, guns blazing, and run them out of the gym early with a big first half.

Is there data to back this up?

I can believe it but am curious.

Nothing is guaranteed.

ISU will need to be sharp and patient on both ends no matter who they're playing.

If ISU has a strong start I can see them getting up like 15 early, time out and run by TSU then hopefully they wear down and ISU keeps a decent lead throughout.

TSU is kinda wild with their shooting I think so they won't mail it in.

Do you remember when maybe Howard(?) came to Hilton for WBB a long time ago. Their pep band ROCKED!! It was the real deal. At of the 4 bands in Hilton that weekend they were easily the most entertaining. I love ISU's pep band but DAMN!
