This team is pissed off, hungry, and together

Just a little sarcasm when asked how Tamin is looking. ‘Tamin still looks like Tamin’ or something to that effect. Then went into expected coachspeak.

He said in another part that he should be ready to go Friday.

It's one of the CF tourney articles.

I think last year's team had the higher ceiling - Curtis Jones was so potent on offense and Gilbert's athleticism was truly a marvel to watch - but this year's team seems so much more resilient.

3 times this year we lost decisively to good teams and then came back to play great in round 2 (KU, TT, AZ), last year we did the opposite. This team was able to learn from mistakes and get better, I think we have a great chance at a successful March.

I'll disagree on the higher ceiling. Buchanan over Jackson is a huge upgrade. Obviously, Toure/Batemon vs Jones/Gilbert is a downgrade. I think that last year's team fully healthy had a NC ceiling. But they weren't healthy.

Or that team. They just kind of stumbled through the big 12 tourney and all season hated it when opponents got into them a bit and seemed straight dysfunctional that day.

Friday could always go sideways but it won't be like that kind of group.
that was a weird situation. They go from a packed and loud arena in KC to an empty gym for an early tip off. They went up 12-2 and UAB, it was just too easy out of the gate and I think they relaxed and thought they could beat those guys in their sleep. Down the stretch, UAB kept getting points off of offensive rebounds. Fred could have easily put a stop to that by putting Edozie in the game. He was the strongest guy on the team and he had fresh legs, he would have cleaned that glass. Plus you had BDJ with the freakout at halftime. Just a weird game.

I think this is the best offense we've had under TJ. Defend, rebound, move the ball around and most importantly, take care of the ball.
I think last year when healthy was maybe a smidge better. If we get the team that just showed up to the big 12 tourney I’m very optimistic! I don’t really love the Kentucky draw second round only cause we have struggled with teams like them this season

Haha a call for Edozie over a decade later. It's always the bench guy that can save the day. He wasn't good and wasn't going to do anything.

That group was pretty weird all season and it just came to head in that game again, nothing more.

They didn't like physicality and the 12-2 start was fool's gold like most quick starts.

UAB wasn't even very good; I think they just knew they could muck the game up and ISU would fall on themselves like they did other games.

If our guards shoot the ball like they did in the tournament the possibilities are endless if they shoot like they did the final month of the regular season the tournament will be short. Some team will just clog the lane and say beat us with your shooting at some point.

I don’t hate our draw but our inconsistency on offense makes me nervous
I think lack of consistency/intensity on defense is a more telling indicator for the losses we've had. That affects the offense due to a lack of easy baskets from turnovers. The offense is actually functioning better at this point. Arizona had only one more turnover than ISU yet we played them even due to the offense functioning more efficiently, especially in getting Milan more open looks.

I'm going to disagree. Buchanon and Pleta are big improvements at whatever we put at the 5 last year. Jefferson and Momcilovic are far better this year than last. Lipsey is a little better than last year. I guess part of my thinking is that, even before missing the tourney, Gilbert was sort of falling apart at the end of last year.
