***2026-27 Mens College Basketball Thread***

I know the committee has said these tourneys don't have any weight on their seeding, but I personally think there are a few teams on high seed lines where results might still make a difference.

We are MASSIVE Badger fans today.

Probably should be big Boiler fans as well but maybe not as Nebbie is still likely behind Purdue on seeding?

MASSIVE Bruin fans today.

As far as “this”, I think it’s a little bit different this year. You legitimately have 3 teams fighting to be the overall #1 (Duke, Arizona, Michigan), 2 teams fighting for the final #1 (UConn, Florida), and 3 teams fighting for the final 2 #2s (ISU, MSU, Illinois.

In the case of the final #1, teams have played like they didn’t want it (including ISU going cold the last several weeks and UConn with a really, really bad loss), which is why Florida slipped into the discussion when they don’t even necessarily deserve it, and with the way ISU, MSU, and Illinois have all struggled the last few weeks, nothing is really settled there.

In other words, the committee almost has to pay more attention to the tournaments this year because so much was left undecided from the regular season… and it’s also undeniable ISU has made a significant statement in the Big 12 tourney this year.

I wouldn't say Michigan State has struggled down the stretch. 6-2 over their last 8, with losses at Wisconsin and Michigan, home wins over probable tournament teams Illinois, Ohio St., and UCLA, and a road win at Purdue.

I'm not saying any of those are great wins, but I wouldn't say struggling.

I also have never understood how the eye test in football is a thing but doesnt seem to apply in basketball for seeding. The way we are rolling teams at the moment imo should have a larger impact then it does.

Badger fan for 2 reasons. Get them to on the 5 line and away from us and knock Illinois below us.

I want to keep any and all football postseason decision making and decision makers away from basketball.

No need to ruin the tournament by letting football dumbasses start inserting their opinion.

Some things need to be acknowledged about WI:

-they haven't played the slow methodical offense and strong defensive game for a decade or more.

-their defense is low ranked this season, but anyone can play defense in a one game scenario.

-they're hot or cold but imo not soft like the ideal '22 match up.

-not a terrible matchup but if they're hitting from 3 they can beat really good teams, and have.
