Big 12 Wrestling Tournament

Messenbrink, Mendez, everyone else.

That said, I am planning to dig into it at some point because I think Yonger is not getting the credit he deserves. He should be a finalist.
Yonger should be in there.

Honestly, he won’t but if anyone has watched Forrest too would have to respect his name atleast in the conversation, my god…

I’d really like to see a Forrest/Blaze match happen. As dynamic as Forrest is, I can definitely see a world where Blaze’s defense/position is just too good.

Everyone I’ve seen that’s says he shouldn’t just says he barely beat amos, that’s the only thing they say. He leads that country in TF. That’s dominant to say the least

Yea, that is why we need to do a breakdown. Messenbrink has 100% bonus, which is impressive, but also lots of majors. That said, majoring Caliendo is definitely more impressive than a decision over Doucett or Amos.

Messenbrink is definitely the favorite. But it will be interesting to compare Bastida to the second tier.

100% agree with you on that, I guess I’d think he’d be in the top 5 to say the least.

Well I hope he drops to the 6 then. (I know he won’t)
I would assume Mendez and Vega are 1 & 2
Interesting how they treat Stanich with only 13 matches and best win is Cornella and never wrestled Vega or Mendez.

Hardy and Ech both have their losses to Mendez and Vega.

Olivieri of Rutgers now lost to Bailey of Iowa today (other was to Hardy)
Cornella of Cornell is 17-1 and only loss to Stanich and has Ivy tournament today.

I think Ech could be 3-6 (assuming Cornella wins today), most likely 4-5.

125- good tournament, doesn't seem likely he can take out spratley but it's close enough he could try to keep it close and win late on the feet. Dont understand the strategy to try to win with mat wrestling.
133-like grice hope he gets healthy, i cant help but be disappointed because im a huge frost fan
141-like to see the adjustment he went down and was successful and also tried to win with double legs, just couldn't get to one. I think he can finish a single on Vega(hate the counter style he's like a non-entertaining version of mj)
149-think frost is a better 141 but always like watching him and im a huge fan
157-bummer
165- like his style and he's wrestling well i think he can make some noise at ncaas
174-didnt watch much
184-bummer hope he gets healthy seemed to be wrestling well
197-title contender
285- favorite enough said

The marketing promotion for a Forrest/Blaze championship match could be good.

125- Thought Stevo wrestled well. He is definitely in the hunt for AA at 125. Though I’d like to see more shots from him.
133- Loved watching Grice wrestle on the backside. Completely proved me wrong. Excited to see what he does at NCAAs.
141- Should’ve had that one against Vega. Wasn’t as aggressive as he was in the dual. That really sucked because now he is more than likely on Mendez side of the bracket.
149- Jacob had a great morning session on Friday and I was expecting him to beat Rathjen comfortably. Maybe he dinged up his knee or something because he looked like a shell of his former self on Saturday which concerns me.
157- sucks he got injured because the team score would’ve been a lot closer
165- loved what I saw from Euton. Hope he AA’s in his home state at NCAAs.
174- Wrestled above seed and is closing the gap with the top guys at that weight. Will be interesting to see his seed.
184- Wrestled well, sucked he got injured. Heal up and make a run for the podium at NCAAs.
197- Stud. Smartest wrestler in the NCAA imo. I expect him to be wrestling Saturday night.
285- Yonger is the title favorite without a doubt. And should definitely be a Hodge finalist.

Watched a few B1G semifinal matches. I know we are not big fans of Tulsa, but I get the tradeoff that Dallas gets FB, KC gets MBB, and Tulsa gets WR. But how does PSU get the B1G champiohships? Is this what they do, let different schools host? No "neutral" site?

Big Tens move around every year. It’s what the big 12 used to do..

The Wrestling Nomad (big Matrix guy) has it:

1. Mendez
2. Vega
3. Cornella
4. Ech
5. Hardy
6. Stanich
