I really, really doubt it. Right now, I'm guessing we're hovering on the 2/3 line, lose to ASU and we're a 3 for sure. Won't drop to a 4 because the conference tournament isn't given much weight, if any.
Totally agree with this. If TT didn’t have that loss this week then a 3 is very likely but with that loss as long as you guys hold court against ASU and don’t have a bad loss in the conference tourney then that 2 seed is still on the table

Too many missing how the Big 12 is viewed. Our losses were always going to be in February, and they're matched with important wins.
We're totally fine in the 2/3 range, and set to make a run as well.

Agreeing with others, we are very likely sitting anywhere from 8 to 10 on the s-curve right now. So unless we lose the next two, we are pretty safely a 3 seed. A win on Saturday keeps us in that same range and a loss likely pushes us to the 10 to 12 range. Its more rare than people think to have a full seed like game (moving 4+ on the s-curve), usually a late season unexpected win or loss will move you up or down 2 to 3 spots on the s-curve. It obviously depends how closely grouped teams are, how other teams around you perform, etc. but in a vacuum that is usually the magnitude.

I didn't say TJ would take his players to Duke, just that if he went to Duke he'd need guys that are lottery pick types out of the gates. Duke is on a whole different level than ISU and personnel is a huge factor in that.

Briefly looking at Iowa's schedule, I'm not sure if winning 20 games with your own players that you had success with elsewhere, in a super top-heavy B1G, is that impressive.

FWIW it seems like he's a good coach, but there's no reason to anoint him of doing much since he really hasn't.
More than fair

It would/will never happen but if I was setting up the tournament I would have the top 2 non-power conference teams that won their conference regular season and lost in their conference tournament get spots in the first four games. Have those two teams play the last two at-large teams in the field.

Cool to see Drake win a couple. They've been a bit of a headscratcher this season because I like that coach and think he will do a good job there.
Me too but I was disappointed with year 1. I know year 1 is just that but didn't think they'd be 12-19

They definitely do, I just look at them now as maybe a S16 ceiling. He is a really solid player.
Sometimes teams like that can lose a main guy and reform their identity a bit and be a problem for everyone. Film doesn’t scout them very well all the sudden. Not saying they wouldn’t rather have him, but they could still make some noise.

But I also wouldn’t be surprised if they lose early.

And that's a good point a la Texas Tech. I just don't know about Carolina being tough like Tech though.

vs Duke tomorrow, so I guess we'll get to see them vs presumed #1 seed.

I wouldn't bet on either Drake or UNI to win the Valley tournament, but outside of Belmont it was a pretty even nonconference this season. UNI is a slight favorite tonight so its very much within the realm of possibility they both make the semis.
