I am way more interested in Caleb Downs than Thieneman.Might not have to move up to get a very good S in Thieneman.

Darrisaw isn't going anywhere. The cap hit would be worse if they cut him. They might restructure his contract.I was thinking you get rid of him and Darrisaw.
Darrisaw is great when he's healthy, and he's never healthy. Hockenson is past his prime.
Vikings trying to spread the health concerns rumor in Indy to get Caleb to fallI am way more interested in Caleb Downs than Thieneman.
Let's be realistic here, Darnold didn't put Seattle on his shoulders and bring them to that SB Win, it was Seattle's D. I think any decent QB in the league would have been able to do the same thing. I really don't have an issue with what the Vikings tried to do with JJ. Drafting him was probably dumb, but at least they got him out there (When he wasn't injured) and gave him a shot.Seattle would like to thank Kwesi for allowing to let Darnold walk right out of town. Thanks for believing #9 was ready. Great mindtrust running the show in Minnesota.
No doubt Downs is the number one safety in the draft, but I’d be shocked if the Vikings trade up for a top 10 pick (especially a safety). But who knows.I am way more interested in Caleb Downs than Thieneman.
Agreed, if they did move up like that it would have to be Jeremiah Love. But we all know KOC doesn't run the ball, so that isn't happening either. No doubt Downs is the number one safety in the draft, but I’d be shocked if the Vikings trade up for a top 10 pick (especially a safety). But who knows.
I could see them trading down or out of the first round.
Yay simply because it’d be vet minimum and he’s still pretty talentedYea or Nea on Kyler Murray?
I'm willing to be wrong, but nothing about him would suggest he turns it around in Minneapolis. He is a short QB utilizing his athleticism to make plays and has been hurt already. He is the anti-Purdy and I'd rather see someone like Flacco or Geno signed who can mentor McCarthy and maybe make a QB out of him.
Agree Murray would be shaky, but I’d take him any day over Geno. Gotta believe Flacco is done.Yea or Nea on Kyler Murray?

JJ is a bust. Bridgewater wasn't bad but had injury issues. Ponder was one of the worst picks of all time. I think the Vikings are cursed when it comes to drafting that position. Some of those old QBs had some success, but yeah it would be great to actually draft someone that ended up being a good franchise QB.Darnold proved he can win a Superbowl with the right players around him. The Vikings don't have the right players on offense. Darnold is definitely better than #9.
Agree with picking up old former QBs and trying to make a run.... just doesn't work. I want the Vikings to draft a kid and build the team from there. Getting rid of Kwesi is a good start.
It's exactly this. They can't afford a real option here. the 49ers want a day 2 pick bare minimum for Mac Jones which we would have to pair with a new contract. The decision is between Kyler or Geno for the vet minimum. I'd rather see what Kyler has in the tank than look to Geno personally.Yay simply because it’d be vet minimum and he’s still pretty talented
Worst case, he's awful and you let JJ get some more games to see if he has a chance to be the guy or not. If they both tank out, hopefully you bottom out enough to get a top 8 pick in what should be a deep QB draft class (along with the potential that the Bengals also suck and Burrow gets fed up and demands a trade)It's exactly this. I don't want Kyler. I just don't think the guy loves football and yes, he will probably still have a hot moment or two in his career, because he's super talented, but i don't think he has enough dog in him to win at a high level. It's exactly this. It's a fair opinion to have. I just don't know how many options they truly have at the position in 26'. If you have faith in JJ, that is awesome. It sure feels like this staff has decided that bare minimum JJ isn't ready for the bright lights.....yet. (I personally think that rookie year injury really hurt the development. KOC knew he wanted a guy to sit for a year to fix the footwork etc. and instead he didn't get any of that).I don't want Kyler. Probably right.I'm for sarting JJ and just tanking if he's not got it and can't improve. Kyler might get us a few wins, but living in PHX the dude is a pain in the azz and a malcontent. He certainly isn't getting anyone close to a SB, so why bother?
That's the best part. He still has like 30+mil in guarantees via the Falcons.Probably right.
So does this mean we try to convince Kirk he is now in the ‘cheap’ category as a backup?
