Dan Winters leaving WHO

Does she have ALS? I know that Eric Dane had it but didn’t realize the progression of it was that fast. Very sad.:(
They haven't officially said what she has other than she has a "medical condition" she has been seeing doctors for. Regardless whatever her official diagnosis is it sure has progressed quickly this year.

Curious if she had sought medical advice going back a few years when it first got noticed. Don’t remember when that was but remember Chris or someone talking about it being noticed when she did the radio weather things.

She's always had a really unique way of speaking and I think that's what they were talking about then. She used to really annunciate WHO Meteorologist Jeriann Ritter, but I guess I always thought it was just an clarity thing

This is incredibly sad seeing her like this. I hope everything turns out ok for her, but it really doesn't look that way given how fast this is progressing.

Unfortunately it seems likely. Not sure what else would cause that. ALS can progress at very different paces for different people. Some live decades with it and some a few months.

had a teacher in 4th grade, also she was a friend of my mom, had ALS. She lived with it for 30 years. It progressed very slow. It ended up getting severely bad. Very sad disease. Wish the could figure something out to at least help out. I realize it's probably not something they will every cure though.

This is her interview on Hello Iowa just over a month ago where she talked about what was going on

At this time she made it sound like the doctors didn't know for sure yet.

I'm guessing tonight is the announcement of the official diagnosis (likely ALS). There's been a pretty stark change of tone in some of the other anchors like Samantha Mesa posting over the last 24 hours.

I've always liked and admired Jeriann, so much that I'm not going to watch the video above. It'll just make me depressed. I really hope it's not a life threatening condition.

At least for me when I would hear it on the radio that was definitely the first signs of whatever this is. Just hoping it wasn’t something that could have been caught earlier and treated. The current video is hard to watch.
