Tang gonna Tang

I am presuming KState wants this all to end quietly. Tang will get a large amount to go away, and the university will go discount shopping for the next coach to preserve NIL funds.

Here for the legal **** show

Horrible look for KSU. It’s hard to argue they had cause to fire him AND were going to allow him to finish out the season. What a **** show.

*coincidentally this is cause to fire the AD.

Yeah, that'll make this a slam dunk for Tang to win this case.

Anything that is 'for cause' is also almost always something you have to end employment immediately.

Just literally read this and was going to post it.

Taylor and KState are screwed.

They've got nothing and they know it, which begs the question of whether this could possibly worth the million or two they may save by negotiating it. If you were a successful lower level coach with multiple P5 head coaching options, why in the **** would you take the one where they tried to fire a coach "for cause" for some comments made in a press conference?

I think Tang will also want to avoid the possibility, even if unlikely, of being fired for cause. That sounds like something you don't want on your record.

@IowaSTATCyclone is spot on there. As much as I dislike him, I don't think Tang has done anything wrong here that rises to the level of being fired for cause. Seems like the spygate nonsense and bizarre press conference behavior was fine until he started losing more than they'd like. Even pursuing that seems like a bad look to prospective coaches out there.
Like you said if spygate was an issue why didn’t Taylor make it an issue at that time? Taylor doesn’t survive this. Tang and Taylor are the perfect examples of the Peter principle.
