I was just looking at my invoice to renew my football tickets for next year and noticed that prices had increased. Ticket prices were about a 7% price increase and seatbacks were a 39%:explode: price increase from last season. In the past, the athletic department has been pretty transparent with price increases. Did they make an announcement that I missed or are they just trying to quietly increase prices and hope people don't notice?

I don't know about seat backs, but it has been reported by others that ISU did not pass through the sales tax last year (7%), but did pass it through this year.

I answered my own question. The unit prices they list on the invoice have the tax included, but the breakdown shows subtotal and taxes as separate line items which was confusing. It looked to me like individual prices increased and then taxes were added on after, which was not the case. The difference in my total cost looks to be from tax rate increase instead of tickets price increase.

I just hope season ticket sales aren’t a disaster. I got a feeling a lot of casuals won’t renew.
We will be one of those that most likely will not renew our tickets. Not only are they getting more expensive every year, it's getting harder and harder to justify purchasing four tickets and getting people to go to the game. Most likely drop down to the three ticket package, or stay at home and watch them all on TV.
Sad decision to make after having our seats for over a decade, but it is what it is.

We were really close to not renewing last year - they actually called me at the end of March well after the renewal deadline has passed just to verify I did not want them, and caught me at a weak moment and decided to renew. Going through the same struggle again this year.

We’re renewing. Change isn’t always bad. The way some were complaining about Mouser, the 3 man front, etc the last couple years makes me think ticket sales should be up if people were truly tired of it. Maybe some just like to *****.
The same people complaining about that then were the same people complaining about Mouser not getting hired as head coach. Can't fight stupid.

You are correct, change isn't always a bad thing, but renewing is a personal choice, that involves not only a lot of money for many of us, but time and commitment to going to all the games. I can't speak for others, only for myself, but it's just getting more difficult to find people wanting to go, the parking situation and everything else that goes along with having season tickets.

We went from a team that would have been highly ranked to start the year, to a team that will struggle to win half their games, which does play into the decision to renew tickets for next season.

I was the same as you were last season. They called me and I finally renewed my seats.y issue is we work every other weekend so we have only been able to attend 2 or 3 home games each season. But with the coaching change I want to show my support, so we will be in for this season.

We’re renewing, but dropping our Cyclones Club donation down to the minimum. Not sure how many games we’ll make this fall, but we’ll go to the ones we can- we’ve suffered through Steve Prohm, We’ll make it through this transition.
