K state game Feb 1 rollcall

I'll be there. Got good seats because my K-State grad wife bought tickets through a private K-State Facebook group.

Included with my tickets are passes to the Shamrock Zone where season ticket holders can get drinks and food. How bad of a look will it be if I go in wearing my ISU gear?
I’ll be in the shamrock zone with my Money Milan shirt! See you all then!

I always wondered how the business district in Manhattan KS got the nickname of Aggieville, so I looked it up.

KState was officially the Kansas State Agricultural College in the early 1900's and the Ag students like to frequent the business district. Hence the nickname Aggieville.

And now you know.

Never been to the manhattan. Is Aggieville like if downtown Ames was adjacent to campus? And/or combined w campustown?

Yes.

It has elements that seem like our campus town, but overall it is much more welcoming to young professionals and geezers.

It’s location is right next to the campus.

I would describe it as a mixture of our campus town in our main street, except with fewer shops and businesses.

We may have an extra ticket for the K State game today. Please reply or send a private message to me if you’re interested.

For everyone who attended the K-State game, please tell us your stories. Hopefully you got a chance to mingle with KSU fans. I assume that they didn’t have any kind words for Tang. Any spy-gate stories ? I will be shocked if Tang makes it to next year.

Almost everyone we talked to had lost hope but they also know they’re in a tough spot with the buyout.

My favorite part of the day was the lone fan who was loudly disagreeing with the early fouls called on K Stare. He came out the gate strong but either didn’t have the endurance to last or simply realized that the refs weren’t going to help/hurt the outcome.

Agree. Everyone was frustrated with Tang, but they don't think they have a choice because of his buyout. However, many are merely concerned about Tang's weaknesses in putting a roster together. I only found a few that would address the spying accusations. The women behind me said it was utterly embarrasing. But even she didn't remember the floor mopping. She just rolled her eyes when I showed her that photo.

If we are talking about the same guy who was on the aisle just to my right. He hated Pettegrew as a ref. Most of his complaints included Pettegrew by name. At one point early in the second half, he said something like, "Hey Pettegrew, you don't need to call those fouls when they have a 29 point lead!" Huh? There are particular fouls that you call based on the team's lead? It was fun to watch him lose interest in the game. I think he stayed only to talk to some of the "legends" who were honored at half-time. I saw a few of them seek him out to talk.

Went to the game with my brother in law and nephew. Had a great time meeting with fellow cyclones in the hotel and around town.

Kansas State fans were super nice, seriously every single one we talked to, and multiple times in the arena we were told "Welcome to Kansas State, thank you for coming!"

Octagon of Doom was a neat arena (Wished we could have seen it full), Super easy parking to get in, and almost attached to the football stadium. While waiting to get into arena, you have clear views directly into the football stadium.

All of the school buildings made of limestone was really neat, and made the whole campus look really cool. Stopped by the Power Cat Sports Bar for supper the night before, Great food, and a really cool Kansas state theme in there.

Would go back to a football or basketball game for sure! Coming from Des Moines, I went a little bit out of the way meeting family in Omaha, but game got over at 3pm, and pulled into my driveway at 8pm, so really not bad.

they had a concession table with roast beef and mashed potatoes with gravy and Texas Toast for about $15. They sliced it right in front of us. It was excellent.

I got to see TJ coming out of the tunnel and pulling up his sleeves a little to show off his biceps.

A concession that sells real food? That sounds delicious. Beats $15 for a Hilton hot dog and Coke.

You act like the hot dogs are ever ready. Every time I go up to the concession stand, there is always a group of people waiting for the hot dogs to get cooked, like they didnt know a game was going on.

Last game I went to the concession stand was out of popcorn in the first half... Lets be honest, that popcorn was popped a week ago, how do you run out?

In hindsight it seems notable no KSU coaches or players responded to the rollcall.

A little late with this, but thought I'd share my experience after the game. My car got wrongly towed from the Bramlage Coliseum parking lot!

I got an assigned parking pass near the NW doors with my tickets I bought from a heavy K-State donor. I didn't have the physical pass, but the seller took a pic and sent it to me. It had a QR code the parking attendant could scan and would get me in. No problem, worked fine, attendant scanning it said I was good. My friends and I enjoy the game, but we suddenly can't find my car after the game. We confirm the spot we parked in and it's empty.

I found a parking attendant (who was super nice the entire interaction FWIW) and explained my situation and showed the pic of the parking pass. The attendant was able to confirm my car had been towed. Apparently, someone called and complained I was parked in their spot and since I didn't have a physical pass hanging in my car it was towed. I can 100% confirm it was not the person I bought the tickets from who called it in.

The attendant confirmed I did nothing wrong and they have been having issues with this procedure. Most likely someone saw my car parked in the big donor lot with my Iowa State license plate border frame (even though I have a Kansas tag) and wrongly claimed I was illegally parked to get me towed. Thankfully, they didn't tow it to a tow yard, but rather the furthest corner or the stadium parking lot. I was not ticketed or charged for anything and just had to make the walk over to get it.

As I get to my car, I can see a piece of paper on the windshield. I'm thinking they lied and actually gave me a ticket. Nope, it's a note.

Pretty much confirmed I got towed for being an Iowa State fan. Be careful if you park in that area for future games!
