my biggest issue is really since Purdue this team just comes out with zero motivation or fire for the first half and then wakes up. I think that’s more on coaching. Hard to complain about a 16-1 team but it is concerning that we’ve looked bad lately and this was a real ass whopping. Holding judgement until cincy, if we lose to a horrid cincy team then I’ll start panicking a bit

He appears to be injured again..But he is always injured in some way shape of form. But think his groin does bother him

One real takeaway from this game is Jefferson. He has to figure a way to tighten it up. I get you don’t want to box in his offensive creativity but my goodness does he hurt you sometimes with his carelessness

Felt like 36 but imo a lot of the impatient offense leading to missed shots and run outs are basically turnovers.

I think we can put the "National Title Contender" thing to rest after this game. Iowa State has looked mediocre on offense the last 8 games. Defense is also getting carved up. Iowa State is turning the ball over more and more as teams figure out how to play against Iowa State's offense. Jefferson is now forcing things. Toure is now forcing things. Heise hasn't been able to hit a shot consistently. I still think Iowa State finishes in the top 4 teams of the league...just not the champ. This team has always felt like a 5 seed that can play like a 2 seed, but only for 1 half. Final 4 is a pipe dream in my opinion. Let's just get to the 2nd weekend without going full Iowa State (where we embarrass our ourselves on national tv for all to see). The brighter the lights get, the more likely Iowa State is to go full nuclear choke (across all sports ironically). It's the Iowa State way.

I’m not sure what I said that was out of line or off base.

We started slow against Iowa. Trailed by 13 with 3 minutes left in the first half.

We started slow against West Virginia. Played to their level for 12 minutes before we woke up.

We started slow against Baylor. Didn’t lead until the last shot of the first half.

We started slow against Okie State. Down 9 halfway through the first half.

We started slow tonight. Had more turnovers than made baskets in the first half and gave up easy looks on the other end.

We’ve done well to dig ourselves out of those situations, but just dug too deep a hole at the wrong place tonight.

Kansas would've beat almost anyone the way they shot it tonight. Maybe this team needed a good wakeup call. Can't keep getting off to such slow starts.
