*** Official #2 IOWA STATE vs Kansas Game(Day) Thread ***

Lipsey cannot get into foul trouble again early, think he will be crucial to keep everyone focused/calm first half. Toure has been a stud but he is a freshman and Phog is still the Phog and would be preferable to not force him to run point if Lipsey is in foul trouble

@brentblum quick we need a breakdown of these officials!
I asked AI on their foul calling tendencies. Could be wildly innaccurate:

Foul Calling Tendencies
While specific "foul per game" stats fluctuate by season, data from major tournaments provides a baseline for their style:
  • Kipp Kissinger: Historically averages roughly 32.59 fouls per game. This is generally considered lower than some of his peers (like Jeff Anderson or Terry Oglesby, who average over 35), suggesting a tendency to let the game flow more in high-stakes environments.
  • Brooks Wells & Bret Smith: Both are frequently paired with Kissinger in high-profile Big 12 and non-conference matchups. In their November 2025 game between Wyoming and Texas Tech, the crew called 39 combined personal fouls, which is slightly above the typical NCAA average of 34-36.
