**** WBB: Gamethread - Cyclones host Baylor - 2 pm Sunday ESPN ****

Can we get a sports psychologist to work with AB? She disappears when real competition guards her. Missing easy lay ups, ramming ball off backboard from 3 feet, and no moves down low. Can we put in A. Williams or Tauleilei - somebody who can score and doesn’t panic. 2 points is anemic and we won’t win many games when forward mentality blocks her self. I love AB but seen this too many times!

A couple of observations I haven’t seen from others, so I’ll throw them out there for consideration.

Towards the end of the first half, Bill had three PG on the floor at the same time - Jada, Reece and Reagan. WTH was that? I think we’re were outscored 11-2 in that span - it might have been worse. Ridiculous…

I say this every game. We need to get more shots for Kenzie Hare. She took the same number of threes as Audi today. If Hare isn’t shooting, she shouldn’t be on the court.

Reece was not a positive today and she saw too much court time. I don’t blame her - she’s a freshman and missed five games. Let AJ run point when Jada needs a break. Reece wasn’t ready for this game and shouldn’t have been thrown into the melee!

Lastly, and probably my biggest gripe - why isn’t Evangelia Paulk getting more run? We’re getting abused by Baylor’s 6’ athletes, while we have an athletic physical 6’ conference defensive player of the year on our bench! Put EP on Littlepage-Buggs and let them have at it.
Please forward to Bill because this about sums it up as well as one could. Hard to believe we have 3 assistants (yes men) who couldn’t at least offer this input

Perhaps we have a Orr / Floyd situation next year? Have the new person take over a well established team???

Not sure how we let a 6'1" forward collect 20 rebounds.

Baylor's bigs were quicker and more athletic than ISU today. They hit their free throws at a 94%. Teams are daring our guards to shot the ball and we still are hesitant to fire away. Said all year, this team is one great 3 point shooter away from being very good. Someone that if you leave them open they bury the shot time after time. Crooks had 22 at half and ended up with 26 for the game, Brown could do nothing the entire hame. Learn from the loss and go on to the next game.

BF postgame. He says Addy has had "a little bit of a back issue".

He is so arrogant. Maybe I need to watch the whole thing, but in that clip you would think he would admit some fault and not just say we were playing two on five. I’m done talking about our coach. It is what it is at this point. Unfortunately I think our team deserves better.

I've felt for a few years that it's time to move on and give someone new a shot at building on what BF has done here. We've had some super-talented teams in recent years that have largely underachieved.

I was just going to post this. Maybe this isn't feasible nowadays with easy transfers and NIL but I wish Bill would do this and set the next coach up for success in his/her first year like Orr did for Floyd.

Coaching is hard. Standing there looking angry is waaaaay easier. He’s pretty good at that.

During one of the timeouts in the 2nd quarter, I remember they had a segment asking the players to do their best impression of coach. The number of impressions that involved throwing a pen, or a clipboard, and just yelling in general made me wonder if he actually does have anger management issues sometimes

Audi reminds me of Fizer who also wasn't a great rebounder for his size. He was big enough that the ball fell into his hands seven times per game but not great at going and getting the ball.

A lot of that though was Larry deliberately coached the team to have the big box out and have the guards go get the ball. Makes a lot of sense when you have Jamaal Tinsley. On our WBB team I don't see anyone going and getting the ball.

thoughts - last minute was an absolute coaching fail - Audi in for defense on the last Baylor posession - REALLY? That's almost a fireable offense to me (only somewhat joking of course).

Horrible last play - no matter how it was supposed to work.

The entire second half - we ran almost no actions for the guards to get them in rhythm shots. Everything was stand still look for Audi. Embarassing - that's another coaching fail as that's on the staff to get the team running sets or movement to get the guards the shots.

This was a winnable game - even with pretty much every bounce going against us. In the grand scheme of things, the loss isn't that bad as baylor is a decent team. It's just a wasted opportunity that was entirely avoidable if we have a bit of actual in-game coaching going on.

Also - I have no idea how the baylor staff didn't get T'd up at least once. I was embarassed for them with the way they acted. Their assistant coach was almost at half court most of the time. He also argued way too much to the officials - that's shouldn't be allowed either.
