Couldn't agree more. That's exactly how he treated his players when they announced they were entering the portal. No unkind words, just goodbye.

What are you talking about? I'm the one moving on. Matt who?? Rocco who?? I've moved on. It's some on here that think we need to keep cheering for them at PSU, or want to build statues, or forever worship Matt Campbell, etc...
. I don't wish any ill will for anyone personally... if you don't want to be a Cyclone anymore.. then so be it. But you're dead to me as a sports fan then. I don't care about PSU.... sorry.
Outside of sports... fine... I hope nothing bad for anyone. But I've moved on. We owe Matt nothing... he came here and for the most part did what he was paid to do in his job... great hire by JP. Rogers is our guy now... deal with it. I've moved on.
I get that, but I take more of a stance against those people who were directly involved in that, not the University.
Sure, the blame lies in the people that committed and covered up the crimes, but you can’t talk about the scandal without discussing the massive institutional failure at PSU.
Nothing butt-hurt about it.
If I'm in a very competitive business and I have an excellent employee who announces with no warning that he's decided to go work for a competitor, I would do the following immediately:
- thank him for his service
- ask for his key
- give him a box to collect his personal items
- help him carry his stuff to the car
- immediately remove his electronic access and work email so he cannot take any of our clients to his new employer
which is what happens to most teams when this happens. Only difference is... it seems CMC and his staff were legit the glue holding it all together which is why 99% of the team is leaving. Clearly the guy had a system that was working for these kids and they're done now that it's no more.
100%, but none of the people involved in it are a part of the University anymore, right? I just am more of a fan of holding people accountable for their actions.
There were several, including the assistant who witnessed child rape in the shower, who were just placed on administrative leave for a while. Other lower level employees who were witnesses were not terminated.
As opposed to "Nobody wanted them and they were horrible before they got here?"
How is hiring sought after and highly regarded individuals a Low Bar? That's freaking insane.
Sandusky was arrested in 2011. They easily could be. It was an institutional failure from top to bottom. All those lower level employees who witnessed what was happening allowed the sexual assault of more children. Call 911, don’t enable rape, even if it costs you your job.
We agree. Those people deserve every ounce of hate a criticism they receive. I just don't think you need to cheer against PSU for the rest of your life because people who used to be employed there are horrible humans.
We do not agree in the slightest. But you go ahead and cheer for an institution that enabled child rape.
Man, we need a reset. Acting as if cheering for Campbell or the players that left in anyway supports what happened there 16-20 years ago is something. No one supports that. You’re better than that!
This whole thing makes us (some of us anyway) look bitter and jaded. Some growing up needs to happen.

Great post! Totally echo your sentiments here. And I say that as someone who would have built both Pollard and Campbell a statue as recently as Thanksgiving.
And I'm guessing a lot of them won't. If we've got a spot for them fine, if not enjoy NWMSU.
Its incredibly sad and childish that you are insinuating that I condone what happened there by cheering for MC and the players who used to play here. I have no question that you are better then that.
