Getting an autograph for my son - question

If all else fails, contact the basketball office. They can probably arrange for you to get an autograph if you drop the Jersey or card off. Thats what I did last year when I wanted
Emily Ryan’s autograph on a game program. They were very helpful.

I don't think they do this anymore, at least for the men’s team.

My son and I are headed to the WVU. He got a Momcilovic jersey for Christmas. Also got his playing card when we saw them in Sioux Falls. What are the odds we could get him to sign one of these while we were there, and how should we go about trying to do so? Would be pretty cool if he could, but not sure if it's feasible. TIA.

Milan's family members attend almost every game. You can easily spot his dad usually wearing a gold #22 jersey. Maybe talk to him at half-time or at the end of the game, then just hang out with him on the concourse until Milan comes up.

Or have a shipping package ready so that he only needs to drop it at a post office.

My suggestion would be to find Milan's dad in crowd (usually at game in # 22 jersey and seats either behind team or bleachers by where team run by from locker room) and ask him if he will help you. Milan is usually great with fans and his dad is great too.

Great idea! Beat you by 6 minutes.

Mail the jersey to me. I will forge Milan's signature and you don't have to tell your kid. You will run the risk that I give it to one of my grand nieces/nephews kids rather than sending it back if it's the right size.

I’ll add this tidbit in about how programs respond.

A couple of years ago a good friend of mine was dying of cancer. Long time women’s bball fan and one of the “Power of the Pops” guys (search for that on the cyclones.com site). I contacted Coach Fennelly and told him about Dale. Two days later a bunch of Cyclone stuff including some autographed stuff showed up at his hospital in Iowa City. That really touched me and made a big impression on his family.

I asked last year for a picture my son had taken with Milan to be autographed by dropping it off and they said no. But maybe it’s changed.
Might just be the differences in the programs and how they are run. I will say that you see the women engaged in community stuff a lot! I’ll never forget the story about Lindsey Medders going to play 1 on 1 with a kid in his driveway.

The ISU coaches are very community driven. A neighbor was battling cancer, his SIL contacted Dresser about a couple tickets for a fundraiser. Dresser said no problem and said he would deliver them himself to the function 90 minutes away.

Another person I know asked the AD for an autographed ball for one. They told me JP said the only requirement was to pay for the ball but the sig was no cost. They said they reached out to Iowa and Barta told them that they needed to make a donation of a few hundred dollars, buy the ball and pay for everything else.

Johnny's is now in Sheman, no longer have early access to Hilton.
Johnny’s pass holders are allowed to enter the upper east door of Hilton and have ticket scanned, then walk around and out the upper west door through the covered walkway to Scheman. Must scan ticket out at west Hilton door, and scan Johnny’s pass to enter Scheman. At least that’s how it is for WBB.

You can go through hilton at the northeast or southeast doors. Then go “scope” out your seats and head to johnnys and maybe swing by the court. Once youre in, no one is going to bother you:

yes that is what we did when we had a fundraiser for th students going to DC. ISU said you had to provide the basketball or football but they would have the coaches sign them then they always sent some other stuff.with eiu you had to provide the bb/ftball and make a donation to get anything.

How long did it take to get your jersey from the nil store? I ordered 1 on December 19th and we still don't have it.

As far as the BB office route goes, I happen to know that Julie got very good at signing Johnny's autograph back in the day because he would get behind on signing stuff. I can't imagine it was a priority for him.

I think about that every time I look at our Johnny Orr autographed ball.

What a night to get an autograph from Milan for your kid! Hope you got it. Looking forward to a report.
