So we can't question Pollard on here anymore?

Examples as in a couple emails? Is that really what you all are griping about?

I think the original discussion seems to be that Iowa appears to be more aggressive with their NIL strategy (everyone acknowledges they have a bigger rev share due to their conference). A few of us got emails from Goets sharing the strategy.

Clearly it got side tracked and picked apart because that is the nature of a message board.

I’m not sure if this is on-topic or not, but can someone explain how I’m watching a Utah team who’s coach walked out on them, only to end up at a better historical program than all but about 3 or 4 in the country, yet I’m not only not watching Iowa State play in a bowl game, I am seeing 50 guys hit the portal and the university is being docked $500K to boot?

****…Washington State got their **** together and they made their bowl game appearance too.

Unless all 50 of these guys go to Penn State, which would equate to cult behavior (they won’t all go to Penn State, in case I need to say that), I think it’s totally rational to have questions, and who’s left to answer for those questions?
I don't think off topic at all. All valid questions and I think people are giving everyone involved way too much of a pass. It's water under the bridge at this point obviously, but I think fair to be called out.

Utah forced Whittingham to “retire” and replaced him with a guy on his staff. Whittingham didn’t want to retire and now he’s at Michigan.

I have no proof, but I would assume Iowa is not just sending emails to people who attend concerts at the University of Iowa.

Also, when you are doing nothing, even a simple email would be running circles around someone.

Ah, so now you’re backtracking since you can’t back up your claim of numerous examples in this thread.

Noted.

CyTown for one.
Or would you prefer a fluffy email, or maybe an explanation of why our AD does not take out $60 million loans?
Cytown won't see any revenue for at least another couple of years, and I don't believe any of that revenue is planned to go towards NIL.

I've said this before, Pollard is great at funding/building facilities. CyTown is a great example of that. The facilities arm race is over. NIL funding is the new arms race.

More gripping about Pollards lack of doing anything. I would love to see any example of how we are staying on par with our peer institutions.
I’m currently sending Pollard an email telling him to get an email out pronto to keep up with Bethany. I hope it doesn’t end up in Steve’s spam folder, cause I think this will get him to send a couple more million.
