I appreciate the fact that they actually guarded each other for quite a bit of the game last night too. Made it extra fun to watchTakes me back to Eli King playing against Demarion Watson!
This is awesome thanks for postingThanks for posting; I always enjoy watching these fuller clips beyond just the highlights that show only good plays. Per this post that I found, Gray had 27 points and Wiggins had 23. A few observations:
- Wiggins was matched up against Gray, but his team switches screens and Gray took advantage of that to often score on other defenders.
- Gray wasn't on Wiggins early in the game, but got matched up with him in crunch time.
- Gray is at the center of his offense more than Wiggins is.
- Wiggins made some very nice passes and plays within the general flow of the offense. I feel like his HS role might set him up especially well to slide in to get playing time as a freshman since he's used to more off-ball play already.
- Gray applied a lot of pressure at the rim and his athleticism definitely jumps off the page. Reminds me of Toure in his quickness and burst (NOT saying that he will have Toure's level of immediate impact).

Milan is listed as 6'8" and bigger/taller players generally have slower foot speed. Being so tall gives him an advantage shooting, especially because he releases his shot from waaaay above his head, about as high as possible. (See photo.) Buchanan seems to be an exception because he can guard smaller players on the perimeter. In the Purdue game, their star PG tried to get by him one-on-one but was unable to do so. The one thing I noticed about Yusef was that he didn't take an outside shot so I'm not sure about what kind of outside shooter he is.Starting to be a trend with Yusef... last year he shows up Mitchell and now Wiggins. If he can come in next year and show up Killyan, look out!
Yusef is quick. Could actually be a pretty decent Tamin replacement with similar styles playing next to Killyan on the offensive side but let's hope he can learn how to play defense with a little more of Tamin's style. He has the foot speed, just needs to learn how to use it.
Wiggins reminds me of a quicker Milan. Tons of skill and talent on the offensive side but lacks the defensive knowledge. He's already quicker than Milan, so if Milan can get better.... so can Wiggins.

Yusef has more of an outside shot like Tamin or Killyan. Not going to be hunting 3's but is gonna take the open ones. Wiggins is the more elite shooter like Milan or Batemon.Milan is listed as 6'8" and bigger/taller players generally have slower foot speed. Didn't realize Waukee NW was that high nationally, but they've got a pretty loaded team again.I didn’t realize Wayzata was nationally ranked. I also didn’t realize that there were three Iowa high school teams in the national rankings as well.
He didn't hardly touch the ball which was crazy to me.Yusef has more of an outside shot like Tamin or Killyan. Not going to be hunting 3's but is gonna take the open ones. Wiggins is the more elite shooter like Milan or Batemon.
I'm kinda surprised that Wiggins team didn't look for him more in those final few possessions. Maybe Yusef had him locked down better than it showed though.
