Has anyone asked JP about setting up direct basketball and football giving options? Or is he 100% against that?

Probably already have one in Sukup . . . . .Casino at Cytown.
I don't know that this helps the situation all that much unless it's money donated that would not have otherwise.Has anyone asked JP about setting up direct basketball and football giving options? Or is he 100% against that?
My understanding is that he wants it all to go to the general fund. My understanding of his reasoning is that ISU currently doesn't have the revenue to cover the $20 million rev share and is dipping into reserves, so really the AD needs that money so it can be distributed equitably among sports.Has anyone asked JP about setting up direct basketball and football giving options? I think there are a lot, or at least some, of the old We Will donors that want the ability to control where their donation goes, and don’t want it to go into a pot for every sport. I know I held off donating anything to the We Will fund until recently for that reason, and finally just threw up my hands since I doubt JP will ever change his mind. It was an option that the Collective was willing to offer that the Foundation/AS is not.I don't know that this helps the situation all that much unless it's money donated that would not have otherwise.
Now if you have a legit NIL opportunity, that's a different story.

I wouldn’t consider myself a large donor by any stretch of the imagination, but yeah- a large dollar donor should absolutely go to the University President if they’re getting the run around. I just liked being able to donate to the sports that I’m passionate about.Like I said before, if a large donor comes to JP with a large donation for a specific sport he isn't going to turn it down.
And if by chance he does just go over his head to the President of the University.

From what I understand JP DID allow this for wrestling. The wrestling boosters offered to donate a mil but it had to go to wrestling. I think that is the reason wrestling is getting that big of a chunk of the rev share. Now that he has the allocations set, I don't think he wants to change them. The sport IMO that will take the biggest hit to start with is WBB - the budget JP is allocating for them ($750K) is less than TCU paid for one player.
Maybe we can offer the players like 200,000 and not tell him dollars and then when we need to pay him pay him in pesos

This is where its important to differentiate between a "donation" and "NIL." A donation can absolutely be earmarked for a particular sport or project. Think JTS press box, Hilton concourse, wrestling or volleyball practice facilities, etc. If the donor specifies a particular use for that money, the AD has to honor it. But "NIL" is a different type of "donation" that isn't subject to those same rules. Think of it more like a gift card that the AD can use to purchase athletes as it sees fit. It has to be spent at the "athlete store" but you can't tell them what kind of athlete to buy.Like I said before, if a large donor comes to JP with a large donation for a specific sport he isn't going to turn it down.
And if by chance he does just go over his head to the President of the University. There are ways of getting your mission accomplished if you really want it accomplished.

Has the foundation advertised the we will fund anywhere? It seems to me that I haven’t heard a single campaign or advertisement from the university about. It seems like I’ve only heard about it from CF and Blum who doesn’t even work on it anymore.
I’ve gone to a handful of basketball games and I don’t think I ever recall a single video message about the wewill fund.
