Ohio St/Lehigh Predictions

My thoughts on the day

125 - tough day for Stevo. Bouzakis might be the class of the weight, looked better against Seymour but still an 0-2 day. Not writing him off, still think he can AA again with a good March.

133 - that Davino match is one he can win. Really tough to generate offense on Davino… noticed Evan grabbing at the thumb he has taped up.

141 - Thought Ech looked much more competitive with Mendez than he did at the All Star, think he can beat anyone outside of Mendez, though Vega looks unreal. No comment on Osmany… that was rough

149 - Couple of absolute workman like W’s for Jacob. Sounds like he’s the guy either way now and I fully expect him to take advantage of it. He could use a few weeks of recovery I think.

157 - Cannon was always going to be a tough match up for Kane but he shouldn’t have got caught. He turned in on in the 3rd period against Lehigh.

165 - Gritty win against Paddy, I don’t think Brignola is an unwinnable match for him either. No idea what he was thinking in the 3rd period of the Lehigh match. Still only think Euton will get better as the year goes on and he gets healthier.

174 - I have so much respect for Riggins. The guy had a rough start to last year and only got better as the year went on. Today bumps up to 174 and battles. Interesting that MJ weighed in but didn’t go in either match.

184 - Dean is so savvy defensively and when he gets into scramble situations he seems to move well, just doesn’t have a go-to shot on offense. Definitely not giving up on him but he needs to generate some offense to go with that stingy defense.

197 - we’re lucky to have that guy. He makes 9-0 shut outs look boring (in a good way). He has had more matches than I expected and I’m guessing at least some of that is his choice, which is awesome.

285 - never going to complain about a 2-0 day over top 10 guys. He was the aggressor in both matches and it paid off. Those are the types of matches he will have in the quarters and semis at NCAAs.

To the people complaining about Dean, relax please. Saying he is a waste of money is beyond the pale. I am happy as can be that he decided to become a Cyclone because we would be in a world of hurt right now without him.
I'm reminded during every meet that some keyboard commandos can do better than our wrestlers, know more than our coaches, and see more than the refs. At times, makes me wonder why I'm following the sport at all.

Dean is similar to Paniro imo. I don’t think either guy deserves the hate they get on this site, but both are offensively challenged and are going to win or lose 1 TD matches.

Dean’s defense is pretty dang fun to watch and he’s really good. As mentioned, if he’s not in the lineup, we don’t even have a qualifier at this weight.

I watched both matches yesterday and only watched a few matches on Flo from CKLV none of them were Deans...did he have any shots/offense at CKLV? "Defense is his offense" but he has to have "SOMETHING" doesn't he? We know Paniro will shoot from distance and we've seen him score but I cant honestly say I've seen Dean successfully finish a shot this year
