NBA scouts at CyHawk?

I took a picture at the Orlando tournament a couple years back and accidentally got a scout’s phone in the bottom of it. Here’s a zoomed in shot if you could interpret the notes. No idea which org they were from because I didn’t even notice them until I was going through photos later

Hasan Ward & Demarion Watson listed, just their physicals. H/W

Texas A&M

Has a Tier rating system, whatever Tier 3 or 4 means to him.

"Terrible shot airball in transition" "then pick & steal"

"Lefty"

Nice share, interesting photo catch.

Hassel and CW talked about it. CW I think said 17, if I remember right.

Yeah but that is not what NBA scouts are looking for to be honest. They clearly know he is the best on the team and we were giong to throw everything at him. in the NBA he won't get that much attention. I actually think he showed well for the scouts. Hitting really long range 3 pointers. Probably didn't show out well on defense.
He won't get attention from NBA defenders because he will not be playing in the NBA. That's my opinion anyways, he's not good enough.

Projected at 14th overall to Philadelphia by CBS, but you know better because you saw him play against the 7th best defense in college basketball and maybe the best defender in the Big12.

It's pretty obvious a majority of you commenting have never aeen him play until last night.

Genuine question because I don't really know much about it, but what do NBA scouts gain from being at the game in person that they can't just see on film? Is it more of a personality look in the huddle, etc?

It's like watching a football game in person. If you have been up close and personal you can watch all of their reactions to everything. See how they are moving without the ball. See their facial expressions when things don't go their way. How the treat their teammates. Are they being a leader or are they not taking control of the game. So much more to see in person than just watching highlight films.

A few years ago some hawkeye walkon had some stupid awesome highlight video. The Hawk fans acted like he was the next NBA great. However, if you seen that same kid in person, he could not dribble a basketball. He could not shoot very well either.

Stirtz looked tired…just looked, he played all 40 minutes.
I was at the game and on a lot of Iowa possessions I just watched him. He seemed frustrated at times and he constantly running trying to get open, especially when Toure was on him. I agree by the end of the game he had to be worn out

McCollum is going to have to start giving him breaks or he will not make it through the season. I understand that he was getting away with that at Drake last year, but the B10 is just a more physical league with better athletes than what the MVC has. We are only a third of the way through the season, and the kid looks like he is already dragging. What is he going to be like when they get into February?

Technically he can play every game, every minute. However, at the end of games he will become less and less effective in his game. Also he is risking injury playing that much. The body breaks down over time. He is no longer in the Mo Valley or D2. Every team has a Toure type player, not as good but a guy who will just hound you the whole game.

Christian Anderson from Tech has played just as many minutes as Stirtz and the Big 12 will be better defenses than the Big 10 every night.

Im not disagreeing with you, I think he should rest at times also, but their style is designed to play at a really slow tempo so that he can make it 40 minutes.

Stirtz has been McCollum's meal ticket for the past several years. Ben needs to find another one soon.
