Correct. From the 1972 to 1974 seasons Michigan lost 2 games and tied 1 all against Ohio State. The number of bowl appearances by the Wolverines.........................zero
I asked AI who this Michigan Man was, that they claim is only who is qualified to coach them.

Why are there so many posts about bowl games in a Sherrone Moore termination thread?
That was because of a self-imposed Bowl ban for the teams that did not go to the Rose Bowl from the B1G and the Pac. They stopped that nonsense in 1975, and Michigan went to the Orange Bowl (Ohio State was in the Rose) and USC went to the Liberty Bowl (UCLA was in the Rose). I remember all three games vividly. I listened to the Liberty Bowl on the radio in my brother's dorm room @ Florida State and watched the Rose and Orange Bowls at my dad's place.
In other Bowl news that year, Miami (OH) beat South Carolina in the Tangerine Bowl, Maryland beat Florida in the Gator Bowl, Pitt beat Kansas in the Sun Bowl, Arizona State beat Nebraska in the Fiesta Bowl, Alabama beat Penn State in the Sugar Bowl on NYE, and Arkansas defeated Georgia in the Cotton Bowl on NYD. It was different and compact back then!
1975 was also the last year of my inadvertent (due to being a child) Bowl Ban, as I started going to Bowl Games in 1976 with my first one the 1976 Liberty Bowl between Alabama and UCLA (my Christmas present by request).

Regarding the potential decision criteria of Penn State being closer to Matt's family, I was surprised to see that Ann Arbor is actually closer to Massillon, Ohio (Matt's hometown) than Happy Valley. (Disclaimer - I don't know if that's where Matt's family is still or not) But I assumed the University of Michigan was further than Penn State. Not so.
Whoa! Does this mean we have to pull for Texas in the Citrus Bowl now or just hope for the meteor strike?
