Here is what it would take to get Notre Dame to the Big 12:

1. ND gets to retain and sell all of their own media rights
2. ND gets directly distributed any post season payment the conference gets from ND participation (CFP, NCAA tournament, etc.)
3. ND gets to choose their football schedule prior to the rest of the conference's schedule being determined
4. If ND is in the top 12 of the CFP ranking they receive the Big 12's automatic conference bid regardless of outcome in the conference championship game
5. Every University and the conference office have to release a quarterly statement saying we are not worthy of being associated with Notre Dame and we appreciate their benevolence to us

This is only very slightly hyperbole.

Next season, ND would be guaranteed a spot in the playoff if the rankings matched this years.

Why so sensitive? You posted a new rule which we can agree is dumb on a historic level. You aren't dumb, but that rule is beyond dumb. Don't you agree?
