Dear Matt Campbell,

Why? Because of what happened there years ago? Should people steer clear of ISU because we had an assistant coach in the 2000s busted for possessing child porn? I mean he literally threw the evidence in a garbage can at Hilton Coliseum.
Absolutely because of what happened years ago. It's one thing for it to happen, but the length of time it took place and the cover up that occurred should make everyone sick to their stomach when the words "Penn State Football" is muttered.

What the **** does that have to do with Penn State right now? Is the same administration running the school or something. Paterno has been dead for years. 18 year old kids today were like 3 when Paterno was last there. You do realize how long ago that has been since all hell broke loose there right?

Like I said in my original post. Money talks. If you think there arent people involved in that program that helped try and cover it all up, you are delusional.

Penn State is a perfect fit for him. He's not gonna waste more time in Ames waiting for this job or that job to open up. I'm sure it's been clear to him for a while he pretty much maxed out at ISU. Id want a new challenge too honestly. Id want to see what I could do against the best. Playing Oregon, Ohio State, USC, etc... is probably more appealing than UCF, Houston, and Kansas.
Great. Let’s quit pretending then. If ISU cannot compete then shut it down and save everyone a lot of time and money.

Penn State football is better than ISU football in every way. They aren't even in the same stratosphere.
All but one. At ISU, if Campell had continued delivering 6+ win seasons, with an occasional 8 or 9 win; he retires, here. At tOSU, Michigan, Penn State, etc., if a coach doesn't get to the Natty game within, at most, 5 years, that coach is fired.

But Campbell could probably easily find another high level job if it doesn’t work out at PSU.

Only a pu$$y with no confidence in their ability is scared of the challenge. Winners don't think that way. Being at a school that accepts mediocrity says it all. He can get another job like ISU anytime. You only live once. Why not go for it?! Is Nick Saban stupid for not staying at Michigan State?

Is there more opportunity for a national championship. Absolutely. But what do you consider a better job? That all depends on what you want to do for the rest of your life. I see campbell as a guy that thrives in stability. There was no better stability than what he built here at Iowa State. He go 3-6 for the next 4 years and then maybe he would be on the hot seat. And again, my beef isn't with him leaving. I completely get it. I just think he should have passed on Penn State.

OMG dude Penn State is a better job than ISU in every way. Its not even close. The Big 10(especially now) is way better than the Big 12. Only a loser thinks, "well I can lose here and still keep my job". He can get a job like ISU if it doesn't work out. My guess is he didn't want to spend more time in freezing ass Iowa working his ass off to go 8-4 wondering what could have been. Was he stupid for leaving Toledo?

You must be one wealthy son of a *****. I bet you put every paycheck you get into the stock market. And win it to with that winners mentality. Only pu$$ies without confidence do the fiscally responsible thing.

Some people want a chance to be at the pinnacle of their profession. Its just like players. I mean why would you want to go to the NFL when you could put up better numbers in the XFL and have more job security right? Probably not. Why do you think he left Toledo? I mean he had even more job security there probably?

Campbell is not going to survive outside of ISU.

This fan base cut him an INCREDIBLE amount of slack. PSU's is going to scream bloody murder the first time Campbell lines the offense up in shotgun on 4th and inches or wastes a game-critical timeout. And once PSU pushes him out, he's going to have no stock value left.

(But that's the point of having these massive salaries -- he's going to personally be fine)

Hell they put the statue of JoePa back up. The guy who knew about it but “didn’t know what that meant”. JoePa could’ve stopped it and turned in Sandusky but chose not to, and gets a statue for looking the other way!!!!

Campbell will be in full on coach speak of how it’s an honor to follow in the footsteps of those men!!
Maybe Campbell will tell the Ped St fans (like he did us) that he knows of a time when they were embarrassed to wear Nittany Lions garb.

Well luckily Colorado isn’t in the Big 10.
