It's a total first world problem, trying to decide between which multi-million dollar job he wants, but I don't envy him. I have no doubt he loves it here. I have no doubt he's proud of what he's built. I have no doubt that he's smart enough to know the pressure cooker he'd be walking into at PSU. But I can also understand feeling like you've hit a ceiling here. The funding isn't what it needs to be to field a nationally competitive roster. Your absolute ceiling is probably maybe winning the Big 12 and getting housed in the playoff. I can understand the idea of wanting to be somewhere that you know you have the resources you need to compete at the highest of high levels.

Definitely a tough choice. Maybe should put a call in to Fred about how chasing a bigger job worked out for him...

And at his age he has time to build something and cement it vs. waiting too long and becoming the old guy at the club type that rides in and looks terrible doing it.

Like imo Liepold waited too long if he really wanted to do something memorable at the highest (FBS) level.

Right, it's not as though it's some Kalshi/Polymarket markets where there's only been a few thousand bet. This market is fairly robust by sports prediction market standards.

I think there's more of a chance people that at least think they have inside information go here to make money on it. I think there's a good chance we'll see Kalshi indicate the answer before it's publicly reported.

Not disagreeing with that! But like with normal sports betting, the lines are usually a fairly accurate reflection of the actual state of what's being bet on. People like their money and don't particularly want to lose it.
