Someone help me, I'm having trouble reconciling the conventional wisdom that ISU fans are cheap with the objective fact that ISU fans have a reputation for strong attendance and traveling well. Seems like those two things would be at odds with each other!

Good point. And I struggled with even calling fans stingy because as you said, we spend money to support them. ISU fans spend for the experience of watching the team rather than the experience of "buying" a player.

However, any of us could find a way to save $10 over the course of year. If only 2,800,000 of us did that it would match the football NIL budget of our top conference rival.

I am worried a bit about Campbell leaving but the thing I keep coming back to is the times and jobs he has turned down. This and Penn St having very publicly being a 8th choice essentially just doesn’t seem like something Campbell would align his values toward a university with.
