Interesting to hear Campbell talk about how much he enjoys recruiting. This is one of the reasons that I think he will stay at Iowa State. He seems to like the challenge and opportunity of finding the right guys, even though we won’t really know that they’re the right guys for 2 to 3 years.

Solid families too. How many times has he talked about a recruit's family? Seems like almost all the time.

I'd rather have a #50 class with a staff that is proven at developing players than a #20 class with a staff that can't, especially in the NIL era. The program stability alone is worth it.

Yeah, he is a huge principles guy, and huge builder of men guy. Getting them by winning a bidding war would stick in the craw of guys like that. Same with TJ. Both are the perfect coach for our programs.

I wonder where ISU ranking would have been if ISU signed Jett Thomalla and Milan Parris? Would those two have boosted ISU ranking into the 30's?

Agree 100%. He's always said we're a developmental program. With that in mind, our ranking is never going to be sky-high.

Carson Hansen literally checks every box Matt Campbell has. It's no wonder he ended up in Ames.

Disclaimer: I know Carson and his family (super good people). Him going to ISU was no surprise at all.
