Blum Leaving We Will?

Wonder if the collective will still exist or just be incorporated into the AD? Just wondering if I should buy some more We Will gear before it's gone forever as a concept.

Is definitely an interesting few years, a transitionary period in this sport. Good job Blum.

I'm assuming the organization is sunsetting itself soon from a legal standpoint.

Any remaining assets once everything is settled donated to the ISU Foundation.

And that's it for the WWC. A short life but during quite the heady time for college sports.

It’s folding into the foundation starting Jan. 1- I’m surprised there hasn’t been a fire sale announced for We Will gear

I'd like to see the foundation take a more transparent attitude, they've been radio silent on how much of each donation they are keeping for operating expenses. I always assumed Blum was salaried at WW and a high % of the donations made it directly to the athletes. IMO there is no reason to operate at a higher margin than WW did. Somewhere on CF there was a post that WW collected 18 million in it's existence so and there are actual budgets and numbers for every yr it existed so that should be the target that the Foundation should work towards and with their ability to scale actually come in under that. IMO.

Not begrudging Blum moving on with his life one iota. And I was one of the people defending what he was being paid (~$130,000/year?) for running a ~$5 million/year nonprofit as reasonable.

But I would have liked to have seen him run a little "WWC fief" within the ISU Foundation (not like he's unknown to them) for at least a while to establish such standards as precedent.

I emailed Blum a few months ago (and he's usually written back in the past) when the "merger" was announced asking him what was next for him and... didn't receive anything back.

Not saying anything cloak and dagger happened -- but seems he's been ready for what's next for a while.

It would be odd to me if he actually did respond.

He’s pretty good at responding, but you have to harass a bit. My friend tweeted at him after his announcement to follow up on an email from a couple of weeks ago and got a response in 5 minutes. If you email Krystal you can get a response pretty fast as well

About what was next for him? That topic is pretty personal. I wouldn't ask and wouldn't expect a response if I did

My bad- didn’t fully read the OP. Yeah, not shocked he didn’t respond
