The Fuskers appear to have gotten their franchise QB

I could see this—make Nebraska come crawling back to you, then claim loyalty. (That shows just how stupid the transfer portal is right now. You don’t see Josh Allen holding his team hostage every offseason, because he has to sign a contract.) Of course, there are unverified rumors that Raiola considered going to Miami just last offseason, so I could also seem him abandoning ship. Nebraska is in a bad way right now. Supposedly business is going to pony up for NIL this offseason, but the team totally imploded today. I would never commit dollars to a team that all but quit once their quarterback went down
My wife had a surgery a few weeks ago in Omaha and the anesthesiologist and a PA both independently told us in small talk after finding out we were Iowa State fans that they have had season tickets for kNU for a long time and don't think they'll get them again next year. Said it's just the same thing over and over again. I think you'll see their attendance drop off.

I came close to feeling sorry for Rhule today.
That's how bad things are in Lincoln!
Ps. Was sitting next to a guy at the bar today. Knows little about football.
His comment. "Is Iowa an all white team?"

It’s hard for me to understand the sports media types love for Rhule. Flamed out in the NFL and made Ferentz look like an offensive genius today. The Nebraska football program is a strange phenomena to observe from a distance. In the 90’s at their peak, Dr. Tom was elevated to a special place with their loyal fan base. As they faded in the Big 12 and Osborne took them to the Big 10, they can’t compete and have become Purdue. Blasted by Minnesota and humiliated by Iowa. I guess they like Big 10 money but they have become a shadow of their former dynasty.

Arrogant bastards fired 2 10 win coaches. That Karma alone should keep them down for generations.

It’s funny. We recruited and got a QB commitment from a Nebraska high school quarterback that I don’t even think Nebraska wanted. Then Bama takes him from us. So Nebraska who is no longer even on Iowa States level, is not recruiting players from there home state that are good enough for Bama. Makes zero sense

I grew up in a Nebraska era that was pretty special.
Despite being a Cyclone fan, wanted to see NE beat whatever FL team the Husker's faced in a bowl.
Lol.... Slow white guys, o and d vs....you know.
The future of football, no matter the level, took a different course, namely, speed-quickness kills

Off topic, tho following thru on my previous post.
Could be wrong, but black qb's raised eye brows back then ("they can run, but can't pass").
Now? Lordy....

Ps. For those ancient, like me.
We had two pretty darn good black qb's during NE's heady times.
Buddy Hardeman and Wayne Stanley.
If I recall right, Hardeman led us to a convincing win at the new Trice Stadium over Osbourne's highly ranked Husker's.
Forget, but Earl Bruce or Johnny Major's were coaching.

Bruce. That was a good team.

I find this extremely hard to believe.
I don’t. Nebraska fans are historically arrogant and cult-like. But, iowa fans are arrogant without the historical success. And they go out of their way to crap on ISU at all times. I would root for cancer against them.

Nebraska fans have been humbled for two decades. They were far more insufferable in the 90s. Now it’s the Hawkeye fans I can’t ****ing stand. Go Big Red. :puke:
Insufferable is an understatement.. After we beat them in 2002, I was in Omaha at a mall at a Husker shop and spotted VCR tapes of the Husker games including that one. I was wearing an Iowa State hoodie and said I would like to purchase that one “since we won.” That idiot behind the counter said he would but to never come to his store again and he called security.

Indeed, but Major's took a **** program and turned us into pretty damn respectable.
To emphasize your point, the 1967 team (before he took over) was outscored 275 to 86. In three years we were 8-4 and went to a bowl game. I know it sounds crazy but I always have felt we had an outside chance of being a blue blood had Johnny stayed and Jerry Moses not gotten hurt.
