The Fuskers appear to have gotten their franchise QB

The whole situation feels like a way to squeeze Nebby for more NIL. Let the backup flounder and oh by the way if you want me back here’s my price

The kid went to 4 high schools. There’s not a loyal bone in his body.

I could see this—make Nebraska come crawling back to you, then claim loyalty. (That shows just how stupid the transfer portal is right now. You don’t see Josh Allen holding his team hostage every offseason, because he has to sign a contract.) Of course, there are unverified rumors that Raiola considered going to Miami just last offseason, so I could also seem him abandoning ship. Nebraska is in a bad way right now. Supposedly business is going to pony up for NIL this offseason, but the team totally imploded today. I would never commit dollars to a team that all but quit once their quarterback went down

It’s hard for me to understand the sports media types love for Rhule. Flamed out in the NFL and made Ferentz look like an offensive genius today. The Nebraska football program is a strange phenomena to observe from a distance. In the 90’s at their peak, Dr. Tom was elevated to a special place with their loyal fan base. As they faded in the Big 12 and Osborne took them to the Big 10, they can’t compete and have become Purdue. Blasted by Minnesota and humiliated by Iowa. I guess they like Big 10 money but they have become a shadow of their former dynasty.

Nebraska paying Raola 3.5 million has a feel of a baseball GM giving one player 100 million and not spending over a million for the rest of the team. It’s just stupid. Get a quality quarterback for a million dollars and get some receivers and lineman with the rest

They're relevant in volleyball!

Young college football fans in Nebraska talk a lot but weirdly, on balance, have no expectations. Rhule is in the favorable position of knowing as long as he can be an active hype man for the rube demographic he's probably always going to be safe at least going 7-5 and cashing fat checks. He's perfect for Lincoln.

He’s a good salesman, they just like the way he talks. When Otz and Campbell talk about togetherness, playing for each other…Rhule’s teams seem like they buy in to his rah-rah spiel, but when the going gets tough they don’t know what they are or what’s going to get them out of a funk. The USC game was the first game in three seasons I thought they actually played with composure, but their defense stinks and they still lost. I think @Die4Cy is right, Rhule will benefit from young fans being numb to mediocrity, and the rubes will keep “Don’t Stop Belieivin’” on repeat

Because it's big 10.

Don’t forget: Rhule and his staff have been overlooking the instate kids who want to come play hard for the Huskers because they’re worried about out recruiting Michigan, Oregon, Ohio State, etc.
