I don't really agree. There isn't much down side to losing to a good team on a neutral court. There is a whole lot of downside to losing to Syracuse potentially.
Getting that win over St John’s will be the gift that keeps on giving come March after they’ve destroyed the rest of the big east. Getting that win and getting out of dodge still undefeated is way better than playing in some bogus championship.

Last year there were a couple of guys that might have chirped. This bunch don't think so
I love William Kyle as a player and athlete if he's playing the full 94 feet, if he's stuck on the free throw line he might be the most uncoordinated human being I've seen in a minute.
Kansas killed Cuse on the boards by like 20 but I suppose number inflated due to missed throws
Kyle was 4-5 from the field and 1-6 from the floor
ISU fans saw him in the tournament a couple years back, but they are about to be reminded what the worst looking free throw from a physical standpoint looks like.
It's insane that a guy that talented has not been coached up better on basic shooting fundamentals.
It is completely reasonable to be pissed about this outcome after the two wins we had. I get how this happened, but the format needs work, to put it mildly.
We are essentially getting penalized for playing a top tier team and beating them in a close game. Need to have tiebreakers that are apples to apples if you can’t play things out in a bracket.

How about 2-1 with a loss to Syracuse or 2-1 with a loss to Tennessee. There is no reward to playing Syracuse for the 3rd game in 3 days after you've gone 2-0
How was it decided that we play Syracuse? Explanation for the consolation games online was clearly also wrong. We were #5 in overall rankings. This seems completely random.

Yes there is, as long as Syracuse stays in the top 100 net (which seems likely), a neutral site win against them would be considered either a Q1 or Q2 depending on where they finish up.

Well they are currently 103 in Net. Either way a possible win over Tennessee is way better the a Quad 2/3 win over Syracuse
For those that don’t understand this format you obviously never had a kid playing in AAU. The main purpose was to get 3 quality games in 3 days. Would have been cool to make the top 4 but I’d rather play Syracuse than another MEAC or Sunbelt school.
Hopefully we beat them by more than KU did and the players can have a motivational chip on their shoulder but this could be a tough matchup.
Would feel much better with a healthy Tamin and a fresh Jefferson but I bet Syracuse could be a little beat up too.
Hoping this is where early workouts and the MMA training mentality pay off.

I get what you are saying but we are essentially the only team who went 2-0 and gets zero reward for it. We are a better team than KU and they are getting rewards strictly for getting a better draw and even then it took a lucky last second basket and TJ beng too scrupulous to dunk on his mentor. If there is any team/ fanbase that has a legitimate gripe it's us.
This years NET doesn't get released until December, so I doubt that current ranking.
Everything I hated about this tournament came to the forefront. Teams like KU that play the odds to rack up points versus just playing basketball. Teams assigned cupcakes benefit from wasting them while teams like ISU get screwed (only tournament wise) by playing a ranked squad. Everything about how the tourney is run just screams gambling and lack of sportsmanship. Did I enjoy being here and watching our men play? Absolutely. That I’ll take every time. But the format sucks.
