Players Era

Move the game to Thursday then. There's many ways this could've been better.

Honestly having most of the 3rd round on thursday would be better for the format anyway. Dump your bad games on weds, and give your better teams a bit of rest for the last round instead of having a bunch of teams on their third game in 3 days.

I don't see how this makes sense, even from Players Era's POV. If you're going to pick matchups with zero relationship to the standings, why not make the best games you can? And it's not just us -- Houston and Alabama would be a great game, but instead both teams are matched up against less interesting opponents.

Yeah, they are 0-2 in this, but they played two programs in Houston and Kansas that have far more talent and they played both close - it's not a bad team. Probably won't be Q1 at the end of the year, but likely Q2 which is nothing to sneeze at.
They beat a high powered Monmouth squad by 5 so there’s that too. Joking aside, if we go out and continue to play how we know we can we will take care of business.

We have no one to blame but ourselves.

The tie breakers were very clear:
Overall record
Head to head
Point differential (20 max per game)
Total points scored
Total points allowed
AP rankings

If the tournament matters, then you score and run it up.

If the tournament doesn’t matter, then you dribble it out.

Yeah, no lie, how much does Tamin get? We get paid same as everyone else and our reward for winning our 2 games is no chance at anything extra and we lose our best player for an undetermined amount of time. We still may end up losing money on this deal. BS.

Apparently outside the top 4 its all about avoiding past or future matchups and scheduling convenience.

TJ wasn’t going to run it up on his mentor McDermott. Even with NIL on the line. TJ is a good dude.

Thursday is a massive NFL and CFB day, you don't want to put your top games up against that.

If there is anything about this event that is 100% clear, it's that the tie breakers were a total ******* enigma.

Hell, according to the Syracuse University website on event rules, ISU should not be playing Syracuse.

Perhaps the "logic" was to "reward" ISU for coming so close to the extra $ by giving us an "easy" game against an 0-2 squad. We already played Creighton, and UNLV, Oregon/Sds play late tonight so don't want them to have to play in the first consolation game. That leaves Syracuse and Rutgers, and so they matched up Rutgers and UNLV to give the Runnin Rebs the best chance to win a game?
