Not the riches we're used to, but still a couple of ISU goats.

Monte Morris debuted with the Pacers against his old team the Denver Nuggets.

15 minutes, 3 points, 2 boards on 1-5 shooting. So some rust to knock off.

Niang has yet to play, although should be back any game now.

Indiana’s and Utah play tonight and it looks like Niang is back, so Georges versus Monte!

Nvm, just saw Georges is out. :(

Hard to believe THT is still only 24, sing to be 25. Apparently he’s trying his hand at content creation while he’s overseas.

Monte waived.
Wonder if this is kind of it for him in the NBA. Seems like if he couldn't stick on a team with obvious need at PG it might be. At least he gets $2+million for basically a month if not less of work if it's his last big pay day for hoops.

It wasn’t guaranteed.

Pacers got a lot healthier. Nembhard, McConnell and Mathurin back. That's why Morris was cut.
I meant his contract wasn’t guaranteed, so no, he didn’t make $2 million for a few weeks of work.

They signed the other guy to a 2 year minimum, and couldn’t do any more 10 day exceptions for him. So they picked him over Monte at this point.

Who's the other guy?

Monte really isn't the right guy for a tanking Pacers team. Better to jave a young guy as a third PG in case you find a diamond in the rough. He would fit better as a third PG on a title contender Pacers team with Tyrese healthy.

Glad Monte got a little playing time to show other teams where he is at from a health standpoint.

Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, he’s 25 so younger but not that young.
They could also sign Monte to a 10 day hardship once he clears waivers, so who knows. Hang around and see how injuries play out.

Gotcha. If it wasn't position related, financially that makes sense

Once McConnell came back from injury, the Pacers didn’t really need Monte because they have Nembhard and McConnell on the roster plus a two way player that is a PG. Instead of Monte, they added a foreword to the roster because Toppin is out for a while. I think they also added a SG too.
