ISU Bowl Projection

Give me Houston or Phx

Hoping for Houston for personal reasons. Plus, it seems like a decent set up. Plenty of hotels within walking distance. Big parking lot around the stadium for tailgating.

Phx or Xmas with the family? Ahh yeah give me Phx.

I'm with you but others may end up divorced if they bail on the Family Christmas.

Literally anything but Memphis in Memphis.

AN. EE. THING.

Phoenix v. Big 10 or Houston v. SEC would be a lot of fun. I'm taking that Friday after Xmas off anyways, so I'll be at home watching ball all day.
I can’t believe Jamie would sign up for that. He knows it would be bad, he’s not dumb. It would be such a tough sell and I’m sure he’d pull whatever levers he needed to to not play them in that game.

Depends on how we finish. Currently tied for 11th in the conference. Lose to KU and he doesn’t have a lot of “levers” to pull.

I think the game itself would be fine if we're playing an SEC team.

If it's our third G6 road game bowl in 8 year, hell to the no.

That's probably not a terrible way to get some bowl game attendance either.
Maybe scrap some of the "how did you finish in your conference" and see if any bowls can be more rivalry based.
Bowls will never be what they used to be. But, there’s a couple ways to help the bowls that, in theory, are easy, but probably not in actuality
  1. Pay the players to entice more participation. Provide bonuses for the winning team
  2. Remove conference affiliations for bowls
  3. Have a bowl “draft”. You could televise it and have the bowls “draft” the teams to play so you can get more competitive and compelling matchups, plus bowls can get the teams they want rather than the ones they have to pick

At least this is the last year of these terrible bowl tie-ins. It's been the same bowls for like 15 years. Hopefully all of CFB will go to a bowl draft but this sport is run by idiots so I doubt it.

bowl tie-ins are the dumbest thing ever. nothing like teams going to the same bowl nearly every year.

The Outback Bowl might as well just be called the Hawkeye Outback Bowl at this point.

IDK if you would get better matchups, but at least that would be must-see TV.

I'd let the bowls trade picks too - move up this year and down next year kind of thing.
