Our defense has looked good the first three games but I wouldn't extend that praise to this game.
There is NOTHING about this game worth lauding. Third quarter and Valpo is kicking our collective asses.
ISU has too much talent to lose this game, but Valpo has wanted it more and played harder so far.
Do have to say there have been a ton of non-normal lineups. That does affect cohesion. I’m reaching here…

What a waste of a game to learn how to create offense. Nothing is learned by throwing it in to Audi. She did well but had no competition tonight. How about screening-pick a roll or drive the lane??
Should Audi and Iowa State actively not try to score if they are choosing to defend her one on one? I just don’t understand what you want them to do?
FYI for those interested, Jeff Johnson (former Alumni Association head) and his wife are at the game. First time this season, and many people coming by to say hi to them.

I feel dirty doing that, but seriously, she's not going to do that against better teams. Bill is known to focus on his "star" and have everyone feed and focus in on them. It's not just about winning, it's about taking a patsy game and building the rest of the team/rotation for when the better teams shut down her easy shots right under the basket that don't always go.
She played a season low 20 minutes.
Oh sorry, let's have Crooks score 70 with all her shots under the basket and the rest of the team will surely be thrilled to just feed her the ball and take all the assists.

That's a great TOUCHE, and it's deserved, but please give some credit to that fact that this team needs to be as well rounded as possible and that Crooks can't be the only focus and tonight they totally focused in on her.
