I could be wrong. Probably am. But it's my understanding they wait to see who wins and loses. Then pick the best non-conference matchups, pairing winners against winners and losers against losers. It's really about the matchups and TV.Do we have any clue on what possible teams we could be playing on Wednesday/Thursday?
It’s total wins with tie breakers being points scored, margin of victory and fewest points allowed.I could be wrong. Probably am. But it's my understanding they wait to see who wins and loses. Yes please! I'm going with my two sons (25 and 21). Trying to figure out what we're going to do besides drink and eat and drink.I'll be there
I go to Vegas 5+ times a year. MGM got me free tickets along with my normal cache of stuff.
Should I update the Vegas guide I made back for the UNLV game?
Drink, eat, drink sounds like the right way to go honestly. There is zero shortage of solid places to eat (though perhaps pricey). Could get some golf in if you're into that. I follow some vegas social media pages that post about off the strip stuff with regards to more local spots for bars and food... some good options if you're willing to take a cab.Yes please! If you've never been to the Hoover Dam, it's absolutely worth a half day and do the tour.Yes please! I'm going with my two sons (25 and 21). Trying to figure out what we're going to do besides drink and eat and drink.
The good restaurant at MT Charleston burnt down. There is like 1 left :-(Heading there this weekend for F1, but have been there a lot since my in-laws used to live there
Places to eat:
Le Thai (it's on freemont across from the Heart Attack Grill
Baby Stacks (exoctic pancakes, but it's off the strip)
Herbs and Rye (Steak place that is AMAZING, best steak i've ever had) go for happy hour, it used to be the whole menu was happy hour prices, not sure if that has changed or not.
Mesa Pizza (off the strip, but really good)
Hoover Dam Experience
Hike Mt. Charleston (there is a few restaurants up there that are really good)
Golf
Shopping, the Fashion center is really nice and has a lot of shops, and there is a really nice outlet mall that is right near the strip as well.
You seem to have it figured out!Yes please! I'm going with my two sons (25 and 21). Trying to figure out what we're going to do besides drink and eat and drink.
Sounds like an awesome trip. Enjoy.Yes please! I'm going with my two sons (25 and 21). Trying to figure out what we're going to do besides drink and eat and drink.
They let you just carry open beers into the arena?!FWIW...some non-basketball thoughts/lessons learned at the Vegas tournament.
1) The games and venue were excellent.
2) A beer at the arena was $18. However, once we discovered that you can bring in an open container, we just went across the street to the liquor store and bought tall boys and carried them in.
2) We stayed at Mandalay Bay and it was nice. The room rates were decent. But once you're there, you can't find ANYTHING that isn't expensive.
3) Freemont is way more fun than The Strip.
4) Chinatown has so many options for food and drink. Both upscale cocktail bars and dive bars. We hit several of them.
5) Next year: We will likely stay somewhere near Fremont and just take a Lyft to the games. The cost for transportation will be much less than what you end up spending at MB and other places on The Strip.
Yep. I think if it was in glass or other certain kinds of containers they made you pour it into a plastic cup, which there was a bin of clean empty cups for you right at the entrance. They let you just carry open beers into the arena?!
Can one carry a case of beer into the stadium? hahaYep. I think if it was in glass or other certain kinds of containers they made you pour it into a plastic cup, which there was a bin of clean empty cups for you right at the entrance.
