This is a huge part of KFs success over there over the last couple decades. They ugly up every game so even when they lose the margin is typically fairly slim, so the fanbase can feel like they were so close to having a huge season and were actually on the same level as teams that were overall much better than them, if only they had a few breaks. Beats the hell out of losing by large margins in terms of what that does to a fanbase.
I think Oregon was without their top 3 pass catchers too (2 WR and a TE I believe).
This hasn't been the case the last 4 or 5 years though. These two games this year were the exception, they've gotten completey blown out against the elite teams since 2021.
Indiana couldn’t get out of their own way and Iowa caught Oregon without multiple offensive weapons on a dig sh!t weather day. Iowa has caught a lot of breaks and they still can’t get it done.

I was at the game in Kinnick yesterday, their biggest home game in years, and it was no great shakes. Definitely not louder than a big game in Jack Trice. There is a lot of myth surrounding Kinnick and the Iowa program. It’s why Colin Cowherd aptly calls it the “fake ID” of college football.
If USC beats them they will likely finish 8-4 with their biggest win over a very pedestrian Minnesota team. That’s Hawkeye football for 27 years under Ferentz.
One of the many things that made that whole "bandgate" thing so infuriating. Those who had been in the band that went to Iowa City knew exactly how poorly ISU's band had been treated there over the years.
And yeah, even among regular fans, you dont see many positive comments from other big 10 fans either, so it's not just an ISU thing

Then you move the goal post and say well in said section in the 100 level never sit...
Then you move it further saying well during certain games like the playoffs in certain 100 level sections never sit.
Then you go back to not one of the 70K fans ever sits again.

I can say there are sections in JTS that never sit too, the ones full of drunk, young students, whos bodies havent worn out on them yet for one.
I also can admit I havent been to a lot of games in a lot of places, but I have been to multiple NFL stadiums and games, and Multiple NCAA stadiums and games, and every one fans stood some and sat some, outside certain sections like the students etc. I have also been to other sports, NCAA BB, NBA, NHL, MLB, etc not one did the entire venue stand the entire game. I have been to concerts, that sure the entire floor stood, but none of the people in the stands stood.
Trying to claim that no one ever sits in Arrowhead is ridiculous. Hell there was a story, that just came out in the last couple weeks about fans getting kicked out of Arrowhead for "Excessive Standing". So obviously standing the entire game is frowned upon even in the hallowed Arrowhead.

Another Redditor said a fan near them also got kicked out for standing too much during a game, even though they thought standing at key moments was fine.

There was a guy in full Iowa gear yesterday we saw walking out of the TCU game. Decided against saying “go Ducks”, but I just can’t get over how much of a loser you have to be to do this.
They're the least self aware fanbase in the country. Constantly talk ****, but when it gets returned, they whine and cry. Typical soft bully behavior. Iowa City is fun on game day, but it's such a collection of douchebags.
That and booing their own players. They make Philly fans look like good sports.
