Grambling State Recap with Jake Brend

Joshua Jefferson made a 20 point performance look as easy as possible, while Tamin Lipsey added some flash to his gaudy stat line. Flashy or not, the Cyclones' seniors made winning plays in a 40 point win over Grambling State. Jake Brend has the report from Hilton Coliseum at the link below.

I also want to give a shout-out to Xzavion Mitchell #55. Not only was his picture on the program, but he also came in late and made big shots to make it possible to pass 100 points.

The crowd reaction to Tamin's fakes and buckets were fantastic, both live and when they showed the replays.

Also have to give props to that Grambling team. They play hard and connected. They play physical defense but not dirty. They are fun to watch and I will be pulling for them this year. I think this team will be ranked significantly higher than their current 323 by the end of the year.

I thought it was great that when one of his guys got out of line and talked back to the ref drawing a tech, the Grambling coach chewed him out and put him at the end of the bench.

I agree, and I thought Grambling competed really well for a SWAC team. They should be competing for the auto bid this year.
