It was a different time back then. Far fewer teams to play for and the league didn’t pay worth a crap. There were still some GREAT QBs that played for Iowa State prior to ‘80. Perhaps the biggest omission and also a player who was in the pros was George Amundsen who was also an all American.

Todd Doxzon also played in the NFL with the Dolphins, but as a WR. I do think he lined up under center at least once though.

Can we also count Philip Bates? Played QB and WR at ISU for a year or two then transferred to Ohio. Briefly played WR for the Seahawks.
