Early tipoff for annual "kids game" so posting now since I am 100% sure to forget Monday morning.

No game preview yet that I could find. Game will be on ESPN+

LIVE STATS

This is not likely to be a very competative game. Tommies are incrementally improving after moving up to Div I but are at best a middling Summit League team. We bet them in St. Paul two years ago by 41 and won by 33 in Ames last season. I am interested mostly only because Tommies are local to metro.

Not much on Tommies site either, just this brief snippet:

A DAWNING OF A NEW ERA: The Tommies will look a little different when they open their season on November 3, 2025. Four of St. Thomas starters from the 2024-25 team are no longer with the program, but that doesn't necessarily spell doom for the Tommies. Head coach Ruth Sinn put together her tallest roster of the DI era with just one player under 5'7 on the roster. - tommiesports.com

Take a look at my write up. All the info I could find on them.

It's a cool event, the kids from the local schools really get into it, only problem is the concession stands are a zoo. We will be skipping the game, daughter has to go to IC for her next cancer scan. If anyone would like our two tickets, lower bowl, shoot me a line and I will send them your way.

Game aside, hope everything goes well for your daughter.

It's an exhibition game.

It sure isn't.

"SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Utes women's basketball team will open regular season play against the Sioux Falls Cougars in a Monday matinee matchup in the annual Future Scholars Kids Game at 11 a.m. in the Jon M. Huntsman Center."

That is strange. Not an exhibition.

It's an exhibition game per University of Sioux Falls athletic site.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The University of Sioux Falls women's basketball team kicks off its 2025-26 season with a high-profile exhibition at Utah on Monday, November 3rd at 12:00 p.m. CST (11:00 a.m. MT). The Cougars will face a formidable Division I opponent in the Jon M. Huntsman Center, putting their sharpshooting offense and returning trio of standouts to the test against one of the Pac-12's top programs. This early matchup offers a glimpse at how USF stacks up against length, athleticism, and experience before conference play begins.

They do have Utah in the Pac-12 though.

Why is Utah playing a D-II team?
Adding to this, Kansas plays Haskell, Cincinnati plays Georgetown College (KY), and Oklahoma State plays Langston. Why are Big 12 teams scheduling like mid-majors?

Glad to hear CBF plans on going into a deeper rotation with some speed and different toolsets on this team. Can already tell the emphasis on D

The team is playing fast on both ends, and looks in control for the most part, which is refreshing. It's nice having multiple ball handlers on the floor capable of breaking someone down.

Audi plays a little more deliberately and just needs to play within herself. She'll settle in once she stops rushing.

I'd like to see a little more emphasis on rebounding. We're treating it as a bit of an after-thought so far.
