I figured as we are very near the start of the season, let's see what everyone's predictions for this team is going weight by weight:

125- I think Stevo has a very good year with maintaining a ranking between 7-12 throughout the year. 125 always seems to have some crazy upsets, and Stevo has liked to wrestle close matches in the past, but he is solid and consistent. I am guessing we see the 5 "free" event dates from Castillo and he shows flashes that he can hold the weight down the next 4 years (but a redshirt year will be very good for Christian).
Prediction: 2nd at Big 12s, 6th at NCAAs

133- Can Frost make his way down and maintain weight? Will Reineri gain eligibility? If neither can happen, will Grice be able to step in and be a point scorer for Iowa State? This weight has the most question marks to me heading into the year, but I am betting on Evan being able to manage the weight effectively, and if healthy be a high point scorer for the Cyclones. He was wrestling as well as anyone before tweaking his hammy against UNI. Even with that injury, a crap Big 12, and poor NCAA seeding, he still made the Blood Round and was a questionable call away from taking out Davis and AAing again.
Prediction: Big 12 champ, 3rd at NCAAs

141- Welcome back to 141 Ech! I predict it takes him a bit to find his groove (no bad losses, but might be some closer matches than expected), but by the end of the year he is rolling and a true title threat. He is one of the most fun guys on the team to watch and can let it fly when needed. I am expecting big things from Anthony in March.
Prediction: Big 12 champ, 4th at NCAAs

149- Will it be Paniro or will it be Jacob? I trust Jacob more, but Paniro probably has higher upside. Regardless of who ends up being the guy, I like their chances in March. I think they face off against Swid in the Big 12 finals and there are fireworks. We know how well Swid handles losing ;) and 3 champs in a row for the Clones will have the Cowboy fans in Tulsa on edge.
Prediction: Big 12 champ, 2nd at NCAAs

157- Zerban is a funky wrestler and will certainly bring fireworks to Hilton this winter. Zerban (along with Poulin) will be wrestling the toughest schedule they have seen in college, and it will be interesting to see how they adjust. Sometimes the funk can catch people off-guard the first time you wrestle against it, but guys adapt and can fend it off better later in the season (see Feldkamp from a couple years ago). I think Zerban is a better wrestler than Feldkamp and will still score points for Iowa State in March.
Prediction: Big 12 3rd place, NCAA R12

165- If Euton is healthy, I think he has the higher ceiling between him and Riggins. Euton looked pretty solid in the wrestle off, but this weight probably won't be decided until after the Cyclone Open. I think whoever wins the spot is much more consistent than we were last year at this weight and proves to be a top 15 guy throughout the year. Hopefully Euton can stay healthy and build on the flashes he showed prior to tearing his ACL against Caliendo.
Prediction: Big 12 5th, NCAA R16

174- MJ looked bigger at the wrestle offs and seems to be at least a decent sized 174 going into the season. Has he developed a go-to shot? Or is he going to continue living and dying by the big moves? I want to see him consistently hit solid shots early in the year and prove he has a solid move to get takedowns while having the headlock and big throws ready if needed. Need to see a consistent MJ for this team to reach it's peak.
Prediction: Big 12 4th, NCAA R12

184- Has Dean developed offense since being in Ames? He is extremely athletic and is very tough to score on, but will need to be more aggressive to truly place himself into AA contention. 184 might be the most fun weight to follow this year and there are some serious studs at this weight class. Big 12 will be an absolute grind too. I think Dean will show flashes of offense, but it might not be enough to AA.
Prediction: Big 12 3rd, NCAA R12

197- Will Rocky stay healthy? Will he wrestle enough matches to find a groove? Such a fine balance to wrestle him enough to find that groove, but also hold him out enough to not risk his health. 197 seems pretty open this year, and Rocky is an elite level wrestler, but my biggest concern will be how he holds up and if he gets enough matches to peak in March. Other concern is if he makes the semis and loses, how does he mentally respond the next day? Rocky can win it all if healthy.
Prediction: Big 12 Champ, NCAA 6th

Hwt- Yonger is a beast and the best Heavyweight in the nation if he is focused. Saturday will give us a good idea on how Yonger is feeling heading into the season, but I am expecting big things from the big Cuban.
Prediction: Big 12 Champ, NCAA Champ

Overall, this is the best team that we have had since KJs first year with Cael's guys. Health will be the biggest thing for the team, but they have a chance to be special. This team should beat Iowa, should win the Big 12, and should be a trophy team in Cleveland. I'm excited for wrestling season to be here and to watch the guys compete.

i legitimately think we can have 2 ncaa champs in paniro and yonger, 3 if rocky peaks and can stay healthy.

Some of those r12 guy I feel have a shot at 7/8 in March. Other than that that’s a solid prediction that I’d be happy with. Just need to stay healthy.

Great synopsis, only things I might change is I'm a little more bullish on Euton and Elam, maybe a little more bearish on 133 in general. Think Euton is more likely to be in that 6-8 range provided his knee holds up. I also think Rocky does better than 6th, once again provided the health part is there. I know the #1 guy got injured at 197, if he's done for the year that helps his chances even more. 133 I just need to see some matches from those guys against good competition which we will get soon.

If you watch the frost bros interview, I think it was Euton in the background limping to the photo session. Wonder when he’ll be healthy?

Younger and Rocky I can definitely see, not sure I can get behind the Paniro take with what he has shown us in past postseasons although I would love to see it!

I feel the same but man going into big 12s last year i didn’t have a good feeling about him and he ended up coming through. I could see him going on a similar run in March.

Good writeup. I mostly agree. I guess I'm a bit more pessimistic about 133 and 149 just because of how up in the air things are with who is even going to be wrestling for us. I'm probably slightly more optimistic about 197 and maybe 125/157, but see your logic in those also.

I feel like I’m being pretty pessimistic in these predictions, but still coming home with 7AAs. If we can get all 10 of these guys to March, there is so much potential on this team.

125 - 7th. I think Steve-o is bought in and I’m excited to see him this year.
133 - 8th. I’m hoping Evan will round into form by NCAA, but 133 is stacked. Not sure even at peak form I see him beating any of Byrd, Ayala, Crookham, Blaze, or Davino.
141 - 4th seems right. He could make the finals, but there are some hammers up top with Mendez and Hardy.
149 - 7th. This weight is wide open and I’d like to see higher, but Paniro you can’t trust and as good as Frost is he hasn’t shown top 5 potential imo.
157 - 8th. Zerban will be really good. The weight is pretty deep. High level guys like Cannon, Arrington, and Miller ranked outside the top 8.
165 - R16. Have hopes that Euton can be an AA, but need to see way more from him.
174 - R16. I don’t expect big leaps from him this year. Mj will be Mj.
184 - R12. To be honest I think the wrestle off was the first time I’ve seen Dean wrestle. Not sure what to expect. Lots of young talent at this weight.
197 - Champ. Rocky gets it done.
285 - 6th. Lots of talk about Paniro at NCAAs, but Yonger has underperformed there as well. He has the talent to win it, but not sure we can trust him to win all of the tough matches in one weekend. Seems like a guy that will be sad and have a semi-slide.

125 - 7th. Maybe has a few head scratchers throughout the year (just 125 stuff) but competes well at NCAAs.

133 - BR. This weight is stacked and I am hedging a bit here between Frost getting down to weight and Grice.

141 - 3rd. Just my opinion but I think Ech is a serious title contender. He’s the most dynamic guy on his feet, will come down to progression on the mat.

149 - 5th. Either Paniro or Jacob score well here. Yes Paniro hasn’t had great success at NCAAs, but this weight is not as strong this year. Either guy gets on the podium.

157 - 8th. Very similar to 125, he may have a few tough moments going through ISU schedule but he gets on the podium again at a tough weight.

165 - R16. I do believe either Euton or Riggins can make the tail end of the podium, but we’ll see how healthy Euton can stay or how Riggins continues to develop.

174 - R12. This will depend heavily on NCAA draw. MJ can pin nearly anyone but also lets guys on his legs too easily. He looks bigger this year which wil benefit him.

184 - R12. Only time I’ve seen Dean wrestle is when Bockman beat him last year. I actually think they are very comparable. Tough to score on, but it will depend on how much offense he can generate.

197 - 2nd. Just have a feeling that he will put it all together healthy.

285 - 2nd. Yonger has had his struggles at NCAA’s, but he’s feeling good. He meets his long lost nemesis in the finals.

This is an excellent write-up, well done! I like this. I'll have to think on this while I'm watching some wrestling tonight and enjoying a couple cold brews and come up with my predictions.

My Predictions:
125 - Stevo: 3rd at Big 12s, 7th at NCAAs. Assuming Jett and Troy are healthy, I give them the slight edge at Big 12s for now.

133 - E Frost: 1st at Big 12s, 6th at NCAAs. Man I hope he can manage his weight. This weight is deep and there are a lot of really good wrestlers at the top. The quarter and semi finals will be incredible close.

141 - Echemendia: 1st at Big 12s, 4th at NCAAs. There are 3 guys at the top that I think are going to be tough to beat. Outside of those top 3, Echemendia should be favored in all his matches on paper. Can he pull off a couple upsets? I'm not counting him out.

149 - J Frost/Paniro: 2nd at Big 12s, 7th at NCAAs. I think it will be J Frost by the end of the year because of his point scoring ability, but I'm all in if Paniro can be reliable. I think Casey wins Big 12s but also have to keep an eye on Gioffre, Edmond, and David Evans. At nationals as of right now there are a lot of 50/50 type matches with Lamer, Wasilewski, Stiles, Swiderski, Rathjen, Valencia. I need to see this weight play out during the season to have a good opinion.
