Maybe we should not have anybody feels this

can someone tell me how TF a team like Iowa has dbacks that lay some of the hardest hits you see in a football game and they have zero injuries but we are down to our 4th and 5th stringers? Just luck?

Most likely luck, but iirc there's a rule of thumb that if you're the one applying the hit it and in good position with good tackling form you're probably less prone to injury which may impact it.

What does a knee injury on a roll up and a knee injury in a 1 on 1 drill in practice have anything to do with hard hits?

KCC was injured on a kick off return. Not sure what you are talking about.

I thought we learned not to have starting defenders on special teams anymore after our LBs getting injured last year?

Can’t say for sure if KCC played special teams or not but he definitely wasn’t hurt on a special teams play
Ah you’re right. It was Benetti they went out on a kick off. Then Dom went down on the next okay. Then KCC went a play or two later.

Rewatching it, it’s kind of crazy how little of a hit it was that led to the injury.

Any rumors out there that Breece might be back for the game Saturday? The Jets have a bye.

Gamblers clearly unaware of ISU's history of struggles with backup QBs.
This is true but let's not forget being on the other side of that equation a few times. Notably the 3rd string walk on Kyle Kempt @ #3 OU game, the 2nd string redshirt freshman Jerome Tiller @ kNU game, and the never really used bottom of the depth chart Marv Seiler #5 kNU game.
