It's exhibition. just not an exhibition game guy especially versus a DIV III team. Agree, maybe no radio that I can tell?

First real game is next week. Granted it's the Tommies but at least they are a Summit League team, and improving incrementally after their jump to Div 1. That will be an easy 20+ win for the opener but better than a scrimmage and first chance to see Williams at PG.

At least they are a high quality D3 team. 27-5 (11-3) last season, making it all the way to the national semifinal. Still, they ought to be no better than the very bottom D1 teams -- if this game is close at all, there will be a lot of questions to ask.

They have one 6'1" player and two 6'0" players; everyone else is 5'11" or shorter (and two of the three 6-footers each played less than 30 minutes total last season). Their all-american leading scorer and rebounder graduated, but they had a pretty balanced attack last season and return most of their other key players. They are a decent three-point shooting team although they graduated their best one (not the all-american).

They had an A/TO ratio of 1.06, really good for D3. Their opponent A/TO was 0.57.

Fyi, last year. The game that did not count was not on radio so, i doubt tonight will be. Excited to get to Hilton tonight!
I've got an alumni athletic event down here at the university. As a former athlete I'm attending with the rest of the alums and an old friend is being inducted into the athletic hall of fame here. So I won't get to see this exhibition.

LIVE STATS

No Radio due to the Cyclone Coaches Show.

It’s halftime. The sisters blew things open in the later parts of the half. Crooks with 19 on 50% shooting. After deferring early, Williams has added 8 and Brown has 10. Harris strong off the bench. Nothing from AJ and no sign of last years freshmen yet. As expected lots of combos.

84-53 final. It appears Fennelly has settled into a top 7-8 players early this year. After the starters Paulk, Beatty, Harris and Williams all got double digit minutes. Without being able to see the performances it’s hard to make any performance comments. Hope some that made it will be able to give impressions.

Overall thoughts:

* I think we are all going to love Jada Williams. She seems to play with a passion I think was lacking on last year’s team.

* interesting to not see Tanke until the 4th quarter. I thought she’d be in earlier

* crooks still not good at defense, but it’s an exhibition, so maybe she wasn’t trying ??? (Hopefully)

* nice to see Hare back on the court

* UW-Oshkosh looks like a very well coached team, just don’t have the athleticism to play with the ladies.

* as already noted above, Beaty looked a lot better than I expected… will be interesting to see how that fleshes out

I’m sure I’ll think of more later, but at least the ladies went out and got it done easily without any injuries and got everyone in

I thought Beatty played well and didn’t seem to have Freshman jitters and was very composed. Williams was very aggressive and Paulk played well. Overall, I think the team played faster and more aggressively than last year. It seemed like they drove to the basket more. The one down side tonight was poor three point shooting. I hope they can pick that up.

Jensen last off the bench.

Jada, Hare, Beaty will give us the speed we were desperately missing from last year.

Crooks sat in the high post more than last year I thought.
