F1 2025 Discussion

Max is winning this championship.

Lando doesn’t have the mindset for it. And Oscar is collapsing like he did last year. Add on to that, I think Red Bull figured out the car, at least Max has, it’s more drivable. Even for Yuki(don’t get me started on yuki, he’s on my **** list after that under braking with Ollie. Screwed him out of P7).

You’ve gotta hand it to Laurent Mekies, took over a bad situation and figured out the car relatively quickly and Max is on another planet, once again.

Watching this weekend reminded me of how bad I need to get back down to COTA for a race. I had an absolute blast down there when I went in 2016. My oldest son has been asking about going to a race so maybe I'll have to pull the trigger on tickets for next year.

Is there enough time / races for Max to win again?

I do enjoy the sport - but the lack of passing and competitive racing makes the results almost a forgone conclusion by the way they qualify. Max was basically just on a Sunday afternoon drive yesterday.

Yes Max can still catch them. It will be hard. McClaren driver's just basically don't have to screw up to bad to be honest. What gives hope to Max is they do keep screwing up and have the last 4 weeks.

5 races to go + a Sprint. It's possible, Need another DNF from McLaren (specifically Oscar) and Max needs to win.

It's certainly possible with the form that McLaren is in right now.

Definitely possible mathematically, but he's going to need some help from Oscar.

Everyone is talking about Max but I'd put my money on Lando right now if I had to choose between the 3.

He's a headcase right now. He's such a cautious driver, and doesn't have that killer instinct. He probably could have won the race had he gotten around Charles, but he couldn't do it in the first stint.

I saw that differently, he knew that the only way he didn't take a chunk out of Oscar's lead yesterday was to wreck himself. Having the patience/ability to pull that move off cleanly after a race of frustration was impressive IMO.

Lando is a blown up engine at Zandvoort from maybe being in 1st place, he can definitely win.
