Creighton exhibition discussion (see post 178 for Jake's link)

We won the second half
- Danny Mac

But seriously, they looked more organized the second half. I’d assume that was Creighton calling off the dogs and playing their subs, but the chaos of the first half defense was more than just a talent issue. It was all about experience and knowing who to cover and how.

well, failed to hit the 60 point mark. LOL. Seriously, love how hard they played in the last 10 minutes. Heck, hit a couple of bunnies and some free throws we are right in it. CU may have back off on their intensity some.

The word 'anticipation' comes to mind.

Great line for Toure. No assists but I'm guessing our blown layups at the rim cost him a few of those.

If you told me we are playing a ranked team on the road and we will not make any threes and Tamin is out, I'd say losing by 13 sounds about right.
I dont know enough aboit creighton to know who they sat in the second half that made is be able to win the half

I got the following reply, an hour into the game, after asking for a refund :mccaffery:

Thank you for reaching out.

We apologize for any technical issues that prevented any playback issues.
We have worked together with Creighton’s broadcast operations team and the stream is now available and running

You may need to refresh the page you are on to view the stream.

As disappointing as that first half was I actually came away impressed with the team after the second half.
Milan and Jefferson were not very good this game but we know what they can do.
The freshman looked like freshman
Pleta will be good with a little time
Nelson will fill into the Gilbert role if he can develop a 3pt shot
Buchanan seemed to hesitate too often and allowed the defense to catch up.

All in all hit a few 3s and tighten the defensive mistakes and we'll be alright

I emailed the support folks for this streaming service and told them I wanted a refund of my $8. They said it should appear on my account within the next 5 business days.

Some thoughts:
  • Toure's size and play speed show really good potential! If he can develop a jump shot, he'll be a pro!
  • Nelson going to the basket looks really good
  • Blake, Pleta, then Moulder seems to be the 5 spot rotation.
  • Having Tamin and Toure on the court together is going to cause PROBLEMS for opponents without good ball handlers
  • Tamin, Toure, Nelson, Milan, and Jefferson is a lineup a REALLY want to see..

Looked like a team that was trying to figure out losing two of their offensive heavyweights from last year and having your leader out. Seems like they started to figure it out in the 2nd half.

Toure was impressive, Nelson showed some flashes of Keshon's ability to attack, and the bigs looked big and fairly mobile.

3 pt shooting is going to be a problem for this team and I'm a bit concerned Milan won't take enough of a step forward.

Not much to take away from that.

Only thing I was reminded of, and it's not new I just kind of forgot, there are a couple areas where this team will struggle athletically matching up defensively. Could lead to some rebounding issues as well down the road. Tamin will help that, but there are going to be matchup issues. Will see who steps up.

And then the obvious shooting issue, that's well understood though.

Time will tell.
