Not very specific, but Jostens makes class rings and other school related jewelry. So it appears to be a pendant awarded for some ISU intramural event.

A little searching turns up some similar-looking pendants for multiple schools, mostly made back in the 30s-50s

I was going to say a charm for a charm bracelet (those were pretty popular back in the day...you could even get the campanile for your girl) except they weren't generally gold, more traditionally silver.

Don't have any from college, but when I was in high school, various organizations gave out pins and charms. If it wasn't a pin you could pin on your letter, you were supposed to have your mom sew the charm on it. I have several from way back (just high school), but my parents couldn't afford the sweater/jacket.

Not sure if that's accurate in terms of lettermen actually getting to play intramural sports, though.

Looks like a doohickey a 1950's ISU mens intramural champ named Ward Cleaver was awarded. Said student would then turn around and give it to his girlfriend to prove he really was a small-town HS stud jock. AND most importantly, get lucky.

A Google search shows 3 of these were auctioned off recently. Did you buy them or did a bunch of these just hit the market for some reason?
