Peralta going last night was huge. Feel Cubs are in a marginally better position pitching wise.

all pressure has to be on the brewers at this point IMOPeralta going last night was huge. Feel Cubs are in a marginally better position pitching wise.
Rea or Shota are the options to start. 4 days rest is normal, so both will be available with no issue.Any ideas what Counsell will do tommorrow? Rea just threw 60 pitches Monday and will only be on 4 days rest.
I don't think Shota is an option either after that meltdown in game 2. Taillon would be going on 3 days rest. Horton isn't coming off the DL into that environment.
I almost wonder if we start Civale and do a bullpen game, Brewers don't really have good options either.
This is what I’ve been seeing as well.Rea or Shota are the options to start. 4 days rest is normal, so both will be available with no issue.
Brewers I could see repeating game 2 plan with an opener then Misiorowski for the bulk. It'll be bullpen game for them really.
For sure. Love to see that annoying a** fanbase squirming with nerves.all pressure has to be on the brewers at this point IMO
Hope so. If Misiorowski pitches like he did in Game 2 then we are going to have our hands full. Hopefully we get the 2nd Half of the season Misiorowski and not the 1st Half/Game 2 one. Have to make him work and only swing at strikes (easier said than done at that velocity). Maybe the pressure of the situation will get to the young kid a bit but he could also feed off the home crowd for the good for them.Peralta going last night was huge. Still have regret about that first inning he threw.. I think it could've unraveled fast and we let him off the hook. But yeah if hes dialed in gonna be a battle.Hope so. Why is anyone worried about using Rea on 4 days rest? The Cubs have options between Rea, Imanaga, Brown and possibly Horton. The Brewers on the other hand have a gassed pen and I am assuming Misiorowski will get the start. To me Rea is the option with Shota ready if he doesn't have it early. Shota just has not looked good early in games to trust right now. Could see an opener for Shota possibly too. It's going to be all hands on deck regardless with an off day and facing elimination. Rea with 60 pitches on 4 days rest he should be fine. I still think it was stupid for Craig to use him that game and not have him available for game 4 if he was needed.

Need someone to "Nancy Kerrigan" Soroka or Brown.Agree with everything but the Horton part. Unless there is some mysterious injury on the roster he can't replace someone for this series and I think making up an injury is likely going to be heavily scrutinized by MLB if they tried that
Postseason Roster Rules & Eligibility | Glossary | MLB.com
Teams submit a 26-man roster (it was 25, prior to 2020) prior to each round of the postseason comprised of postseason-eligible players. A club may request permission from the Commissioner's Office to replace a player who is injured during the course of a series, but that player is then ineligible for the rest of that round and the subsequent round, if there is one. A pitcher may be replaced only by another pitcher, and a position player only by another position player.
That's why an illness/flu would be a better angle for Civale or Soroka. You can still replace a pitcher who is ill for a few days, right? Or would the MLB need a Dr.'s note?Agree with everything but the Horton part. I agree with the above post that if the Cubs did anything of the sort it would be scrutinized VERY closely. That's why an illness/flu would be a better angle for Civale or Soroka. You can still replace a pitcher who is ill for a few days, right? Or would the MLB need a Dr.'s note?
Have one of the pitchers you want to replace eat some gas station sushi.
I get that it would be controversial, but it really is not that difficult to have an injury pop up. The fact is someone on this roster would not be on the NLCS roster so Horton can be. Maybe that person has some sort of nagging injury that could be affecting them? This late in the season, there is a lot of nagging things that players try and play through. Why not throw your best guy who is eligible to come off the IL?Agree with everything but the Horton part. I wouldn’t do it. It’s not the right thing to do for one, and if the MLB thinks teams are abusing this, they could remove the exception for the future when you really need/qualify.I get that it would be controversial, but it really is not that difficult to have an injury pop up. Exactly, this is a big spot for a rookie to be throwing that hasn't pitched extensively since he was shutdown. Besides the obviously ethical reasons let's just win this game Saturday with the guys we have and get Horton some more work on the side. If he's healthy then by all means activate him if we make the NLCS and he can start 1 of the first 2 games.I wouldn’t do it. I also am not even sure I want him pitching here. He said he had a bullpen session, but wasn’t given max effort. That leads me to believe he’s not 100% ready. I don’t want a rookie who may not be ready getting his first playoff action in a game 5/winner take all game. Start him game 1 or 2 of the next round if we can fight through.
Drew Pomeranz starting was not on my bingo card. 0 hits and 5 Ks in 3 innings against Milwaukee this series.
