*** @ Colorado Pregame Thread ***

Colorado is not good overall. They have looked almost good at times, but can't sustain for a whole game. That said, we will have to bring our A game. They are going to pump sunshine up Salter's ass all week and convince him he can throw at will against our backups, and I expect their team to rally around Prime's recent health issues. If you didn't hear, he's having problems with blood clots again. More news should come today.

Given that special teams is going to be what it’s going to be until Konrardy comes back, and the defense is adjusting post-injuries, the offense has to be better. Like, way better, at least if this team is still going to get to Arlington. I don’t have the answers, but luckily Colorado’s defense is average at best
This. It seemed obvious that the ISU offense would need to pick up the pace last Saturday given the injuries on defense, and they just weren't ready.

I saw some posts in the Cinci game/post game threads that the Cinci defensive scheme was able to neutralize ISU's tight ends, and ISU didn't really counter this until later in the second half. If that's the case (and I don't recall any posts disputing that)...ISU's reputation is to beat up people with tight ends. So, it seems obvious that a defense might try to take away the tight ends...you have to be prepared to counter that ASAP and make the opponent pay.

I think this board has declared that Rocco was off after the KSU, Iowa, Arkansas State, and now Cincy games. At this point I don't think you can argue that it was an off day, that is just where he is as a player.
No?

Rocco is as clearly off a good portion of ‘24. And at times this season, he might have been a little bit off on some passes, like not leading a receiver enough for them to catch it in stride.

This game he was badly off. It’s not the same.

need to call plays that everyone doesn't know I can call every play Oc need to wake up

If there is any saving grace for ISU’s defense Saturday, it will be that Pat Shurmur is calling plays for CU. Buff fans hate him and have wanted him gone for a while now.

We should be extremely concerned if they can move the ball consistently.

I would like to see us stop wasting downs on offense. Most if not all drives have several plays that look like the staff didn’t know what to call, so they ran Sama into a buzz saw. Happened several times on Sat, which is why we seemed to have so many 3rd and 7s and the like.
I guess if you have a stout defense, you can do that to kill some clock. But when you've got to have points, you can't have throw away downs. It just seems to me that the offense adapted poorly on Saturday to the situation at hand. I hope the offensive learns from it. Make the plays count, and score points...

Lets see how the team responds coming off the 1st loss of the season. I'm sure Colorado will be in a grumpy mood as well.

FanDuel currently has us as a 4.5 point favorite.

6 day out Weather Forecast: Partly Cloudy with a High of 77 degrees.

2:30 pm Central kickoff on ESPN.

So far I've got through this entire season with only the "mini" version of Hulu (ESPN channels only) plus over-the-air Fox!!! Keep it going!

(Like $35 ish per month vs. $85!!!)

Wonder if Prime will be on the sidelines.
Hope they get his health issues under control...

It looks like getting to the QB isn't Colorado's specialty as well. They match us with only 8 sacks on the season

Colorado reminds me of Arizona. At times look good, then will make a bone headed play.

Deion having a procedure today but hopes to be on the sideline Saturday:

There's got to be a record of how many times ISU has faced an interim coach. This isn't even the first time playing Colorado with an interim.

My biggest fear is this is one of those kill teams, that suck on the road.

Does anyone have any idea when the Clones might get a kicker back?
